Isn't that Bing rewards stuff US only?

The "rewards" are US only but I'm living in Canada and I am receiving money every month or so (sometime something around CAD 30$) on my Microsoft account as I'm using Bing primarly; not sure how and why but it happens every months and it states "Microsoft reward credits". I usually end up using it to pay for my games or videos.

I was actually suprised by it at first because as you said the reward site states "US Only"...

Does using AltaVista get me anything?

With most of Microsoft's attempts to copy something more popular (reminds me of the Zune or w.e it is) they generally give up... it's weird that they're still trying to push Bing on everyone.

Push it on everyone?

It sounds to me like they're just offering people some nice rewards if they choose to use their free search engine service.

The same thing Sony does with their PlayStation credit card or what Nintendo does with their reward system...

I'm assuming you think their trying to push their services on everyone too or do you just enjoy going into pro-Microsft threads to spread hate?

Bing has been around for a long time and has apparently become profitable. While still far behind Google in marketshare its doing pretty good.

MS's efforts in mobile devices didn't die with Zune, they moved to other things.

You gotta love the internet. MS is objectively offering something great to get some marketshare (competition), but guys like you look for a negative spin. Its expected, but still worth pointing out.

I have a Zune from back in the day which I use in my car, and I still think its 100x better than iPod. I haven't had a single problem with it in almost 10 years (while my iPod died after about three years) and the Zune software is millions of times better and less restrictive than iTunes. Its actually sad that they stepped out of the race so soon when they had a clearly superior product.

I have no issue with Microsoft trying to do their own things; if I did, I wouldn't have enjoyed my Xbox and Xbox 360 and wouldn't consistently still go with Winows OS heh... That said, I still don't care for Bing and probably never will. Have at it, though.

I don't know enough about the Zune to comment on it being "millions of times better".

I don't have a problem with anyone trying to push their service or product on people given that's the whole point of making it, it's just Bing specifically seems to have been an ongoing effort for ages now.

My lord you Microsoft people are touchy... and I say that via a Microsoft OS (in fact three devices with three separate Windows 10 licenses) with an Xbox and Xbox360 sharing the room with me. I guess I'm just not accustomed to encountering Microsoft fanboys these days and didn't realize Bing of all things had such zealous defenders.

I'll certainly look into this when I probably get the Scorpio... it's easy enough to just use a different web browser if Bing continues to annoy. It's a good deal, and I did not mean to imply it isn't.

Only in combination with Netscape Navigator.

The real question here is why you aren't using pornhub for all your fuck video needs.

I use Bing exclusively. Best search engine available and definitely more attractive than Google. I get better search results and i have accumulated nearly 100,000 Bing Rewards points. I also have the newest Windows Phone so that definitely helps. I suggest everyone use Bing for the daily image alone. I was so happy my school changed its search engine default over to Bing from Google.

I just noticed you can get 12 Months of Xbox Live gold for 29,000 points. I've been collecting points for a few months and I have 15,000 points.

So... I'm just gonna keep saving up and buy a year of Gold.

I know some will argue Bing is a bad search engine but its been fine for me. Much better for finding fuck videos than Google as well.

That moment when you pay your yearly subscription by giving Microsoft your search history for them to sell it to third parties. Not sure I would make that trade.
