Well first, it will sell because Splatoon is fun as hell and now you can play it on the go as well lol

Otherwise, it seems absolutely clear to me that this is mostly a remaster with a new map pack in all but name... It reminds me of most direct sequels, probably recycling the engine and utilizing many of the same assets with some polishing here and there.

Of course, that doesn't particularly bother me given there isn't another Splatoon available on the Switch and, given the nature of the game and the art style, I'm having a difficult time thinking of things I'd like to be improved or included for the first time. It looks good, the maps are new, and we can play it on a new system; thats about all that matters lol

Well the game being fun is implied. No game will sell if it isn't fun..or at least not have the legs Splatoon has. So you said the same thing I did and 1005 YES IT DOES AND WILL SELL BECAUSE IT IS NINTENDO'S ONLY ONLINE SHOOTER. IT IS NINTENDO's CALL OF DUTY. I don't see why you're trying to correct me when we both said virtually the samething...

The vast majority of people won't mind that it is virtually the same game with a couple added features because like Call of Duty it will sell. Not to mention Wii U had 14 million (I think) sales, that's a ton of people that have never played Splatoon that are going to purchase. All the butthurt kids that are upset (and I don't see many of them) that this is basically a remaster will purchase because 1. There's nothing else on the Switch, 2. Their friends will be playing it.

A Splatoon game will be the 2nd best selling Switch title behind Mario Kart.

It was mostly the last line I was responding to "This game will sell because it is Nintendo's only Online shooter that matters.".

That certainly helps, but (as you've just said) it gets by fine on its own merits.

That last bolded claim, though, is rather... bold lol. BotW, Odyssey, and eventually a new Smash Bros will probably all sell quite well; it's not out of the question for Splatoon, but that'll be a challenge.

Okay I think that statement stands if the Switch can play games online on the go. If it doesn't have that, then maybe not. If it does, I think it's got that spot. Mario Kart isn't being dethroned. I'll place my bet here saying that A splatoon game (maybe not this one) will be the 2nd best selling game.

Looks AMAZING!

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

I don't care that there isn't a lot of difference, I would even buy a port of the original (without any change or improvements) for the full price.

Eh... looks the same. The environments look a little better but that may just be art direction more than technical.

If the resolution was higher, we might be impressed.

Just for the record, Splatoon 2 is game in development, its months from release, so don't talk about game like this is a final or launch version of game.

It looks exactly the same. But the problem a lot of people will run into in stating this is that the same is true for a whole lot of online multiplayer shooters today... I still have problems telling various Call of Duty games apart, both in single player and multiplayer.

I don't think the average Splatoon fan is overly concerned with graphics quality either, so it won't be a lost selling point at any rate.

720p too like splatoon 2

Oh, well, the odds for it to be 1080 don't seem good, but maybe they can improve in the final moments before release. : X

The demo would of been compiled mid to late 2016.
The demo would of needed translation and QA testing, with ARMS, Zelda, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and 1, 2 Switch Nintendo America would of needed the game well before January 2017.
Assuming Nintendo wanted to lock the game at 720p to ensure that they can achieve 60 fps in the demo, we should hopefully see 1080p at release.

NX Gamer saying that game currently runs at 720p in portable and docked mode (not that rumored 530p).

This might be a bit off topic but is there a reason Nintendo never adds any AA to their games? They always look great in motion but in screenshots the jaggies are horrible and everywhere.

Yeah thats what I found too! Especially with the 3DS.

Recently I've been playing a lot of DKC:R on 3DS. Technically is a very impressive games on 3DS but its also one of the most jaggy ridden games I've seen on it. So I'm sure 3DS is using some form of AA.

I believe PSP even used AA.
