I'm curious, how would AA help on a 240p screen ranging from 3.7" to 4.7" (diagonal) in size?

Oh! I dont know anything about AA stuff. I just agreed on him how the screenshots on Nintendo games looks soooooo different to what you see in motion.

in motion the aliasing is not constantly in the same place, that's why the brain manages to filter a lot of it out of what is perceived (works pretty well with heavily stylized graphics like Nintendo often uses)

Not very noticeable improvement but the game already looks nice enough, doubt they could have done more, specially on the switch.

Yea I knew the differences was gonna be minor. Oh well

This is going to be every game on Switch. Games dont usually look better when going from a home console to a next gen handheld and the Switch is essentially a handheld with a HDMI Out.

Yep, Splatoon 2 definitely looks better. But it's like those comparisons between PS4 and XB1 games... you have to pay attention to notice improvements, otherwise it will look same

Main difference is this being a comparison between an old gen console vs. next gen console. This is not a comparison between two rival consoles in the same generation. Still, the difference is minimal at the same resolution as the original. Quite emberassing.

Actually I don't know if you remember the games that were releasing for the PS4/Xbox1 when they launched that were on the previous gen as well, but they were very difficult to notice much improvement. That went on for quite some time.

Despite being made to fit such a small device, the hardware in the Switch is very much superior to the Wii U, and it's also much easier to program for. Things will certainly look better once we're not merely receiving ports and slight upgrades.

They could just release a remastered version of the first or this one and without the name I couldn't tell the difference and I don't think the general consumers will. Splatoon was one of the best new IP's last gen and definitely the best for Nintendo. This game will sell because it is Nintendo's only Online shooter that matters.

Also not including voice chat into these online games is genius. You have no idea how pissed off parents get hearing their kid yell really stupid stuff into a microphone.

Well first, it will sell because Splatoon is fun as hell and now you can play it on the go as well lol

Otherwise, it seems absolutely clear to me that this is mostly a remaster with a new map pack in all but name... It reminds me of most direct sequels, probably recycling the engine and utilizing many of the same assets with some polishing here and there.

Of course, that doesn't particularly bother me given there isn't another Splatoon available on the Switch and, given the nature of the game and the art style, I'm having a difficult time thinking of things I'd like to be improved or included for the first time. It looks good, the maps are new, and we can play it on a new system; thats about all that matters lol

Difference is minimal adnd likey started off as a Wii U game but moved to Switch. Fine with me game looked really nice to begine with IMO. It doesn't need to be the most technical game.

Well the game being fun is implied. No game will sell if it isn't fun..or at least not have the legs Splatoon has. So you said the same thing I did and 1005 YES IT DOES AND WILL SELL BECAUSE IT IS NINTENDO'S ONLY ONLINE SHOOTER. IT IS NINTENDO's CALL OF DUTY. I don't see why you're trying to correct me when we both said virtually the samething...

The vast majority of people won't mind that it is virtually the same game with a couple added features because like Call of Duty it will sell. Not to mention Wii U had 14 million (I think) sales, that's a ton of people that have never played Splatoon that are going to purchase. All the butthurt kids that are upset (and I don't see many of them) that this is basically a remaster will purchase because 1. There's nothing else on the Switch, 2. Their friends will be playing it.

A Splatoon game will be the 2nd best selling Switch title behind Mario Kart.
