I got the five pink coins in the tutorial level.

It would've done better if it wasnt $10 fucking dollars

2 bucks is pushing it. 10 bucks is too much.

Had they released it at a price point between $1.99 and $4.99 it wod have done substantially better. In Canada it's $13.99, which is absurd for a mobile game.

They can always drop the price, right? People are talking as if it's stuck at $10 forever.

I think it was smart to start it at $10.  This was Mario's first ever foray into moble phones, so you gotta start high!  Test the waters.  See what people are willing to pay for Mario on their phones.  If it doesn't work out, you can always drop the price later.

Knowing Nintendo software prices it's probably stuck there at $10 forever.

Nintendo should have nickel-and-dimed the game up. This scene is used to free games that nickel and dime players called 'whales' who spend big on 'free' games.

Lesson learned I guess?

I dont think the model adopted was the issue. The problem was the pricing.5 dollars would be good, but 10 was simply too much to ask.

And as for the effects of the game on the main bussiness, its hard to say.I think we will see as the Switch is a succes in the end or not, and how Oddyssey ends up performing.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

I hope they avoid the free model just for my sake. For theirs, it would probably be the best option.

This is a missed opportunity for them.

It´s not that Super Mario Run is a bad game, not at all.... For a mobile game, it´s really fun and polished and there´s a lot to do there.

Now that it´s out for Android, I had some friends to try it and everybody really loved it. The problem is the price tag. It´s too expensive.

If the price was between USD 3-4, people would buy it and it would be a huge sucess
