Gravity - Fantastic directing, cinematography and editing. I love everything about it visually. I do not dig Sandra Bullock's acting and the screenplay is kinda lame so I cant bring myself to rewatch it again.

Did you see Gravity in theatres? Honestly, for me, seeing Gravity in theatres was an amazing experience. The way the film was shot, edited, and acted really put you into the action and feeling of what Bullock's character was going through... in theatres. It's not as mesmerizing at home, though. People seem to be really divided about Gravity. I've heard people say it was boring, which makes no sense to me if you pick up on the symbolism and appreciate great filmmaking.

OT: The English Patient (most of you probably haven't seen/heard of this one) and Boyhood. Two that come to mind pretty quickly.

I saw it in theatres in 3D. I don't think anyone is doubting the beauty of the film. It's just that not at any point in the film can one validly care for Bullock's character and the impending danger she is in. You could have thrown in a CGI'd stick character and you'd care for the outcome all the same, as the development was non existent. The film was a technical showcase which is fine.

The Amazing Spider-Man
Thor 1 and 2
Iron Man
Sausage Party
Fast and Furious
Terminator 1 (2nd was much better)
Live action Beauty and the Beast
Snow White- worst princess in my opinion.
Rush Hour 2-3

For shows:
The Walking Dead- geez, take out dead and you got the majority of the show summed up in two words...

You're using a really loose definition of critically acclaimed. Only movie there with true critical acclaim is Terminator 1 and to a lesser extent Iron Man. Because if "critically acclaimed" means averaging 3 to 3.5 star reviews, let me tell ya, i hate 100s of them.

Definitely loved by audiences though

I gotta give that award to the Princess of Bland herself, Sleeping Beauty.

Still, Snow White may not have aged as well many of Disney's movies, but in its proper historical context it was mindblowing to viewers at the time.

Snow White holds a 98 on Rotten Tomatoes.

I'm not really feeling Logan. I was at first but after thinking about it, it kinda sucks.

Also my list off the top of my head from the past few years, i watch too much Horror:

It Follows;
Cabin in the Woods;
The Witch;
Attack the Block;
Zero Dark Thirty; and
Gravity.

The Revenant nearly made it on the list, but hot damn as shit as DiCaprio was in it (out of all his amazing performances he won it for grunting for 2 hours in this one, what the flying fuck), the cinematography was stellar.

I tried repeatedly to watch the Revenant but it just didn't click. Then, day I watched it with a friend of mine and thought "Damn. This movie is fantastic."

And I never want to watch it, again.

Pulp Fiction- Moves far too slow, the entire movie revolves around a mcguffin AKA nothing.

The Dark Knight Rises - That was the ending? Really?... A bomb? It's obvious Nolan had ran out of interesting ideas.
