Heya all, Cloudyman here, with a sort of special edition of "Show me your ..." various gaming collection thread. This time is a chance to show off your rarest, most vaulable, and most expensive games/items in your collection. These are the games which if you were to sell them, you could get yourself some decent cash. That is, if you want to... I sure wouldn't, haha. Anyways, I'll go ahead and show of my collection of rare games.
- For my list, I'll be using mostly Amazon as a source to figure out the current worth of the games I'm listing. You can use more sites if you like.
Dokapon Kingdom
Current Price Range : $95 - 300+ (Wii U)
Dokapon Kingdom is kind of a weird game. It's an RPG board game sort of like Mario Party, but you gain control of towns, fight monsters and level up. It's a fun little game, although not as exciting as Mario Party, nor so good as an RPG, and it's extremely long. (My friends took a month to beat one playthrough). Despite that, there's still some fun to be had, and watching your character grow and customize their class and gear is fun. Somehow, this game is quite pricy. A disc alone sell in the low 100 side, but since I have a complete copy, that raises the price quite a bit. Not something I'd expect to be so expensive, but I was fortunate to hear about and buy this before it disappeared from used sections in Gamestop. Also, while I have the PS2 version as well, it's not as pricy, but hey, I have that one too.
Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn
Current Price Range: $100 - 200 (Wii)
The 2nd game in the Radiant series, Radiant Dawn was a game that I recall came out rather early in the Wii's life and ended up not selling so well. Perhaps people didn't play the 1st game, or the series didn't hit its stride yet. This game was also very difficult, so that could have been a turn off for some people. With no downloadable version of the game, this has also become a rare and expensive game. I happened to buy this at a store when it was still rather new, caving in to buy it after waiting for so long. Now I'm glad I did. Also, speaking of the Radiant games....
Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance
Current Price Range: $100 - 200 (Gamecube)
Falling around the same price range is the 1st game of the series, Path of Radiance. It was a game that released on the Gamecube and sort of started a fanbase for the Fire Emblem series, as well as the GBA title, simply named 'Fire Emblem'. And with time, this game became a rare collectable for newer fans of Fire Emblem who came in around Awakening. I'm not sure why this game became rare. Perhaps because it released on the Gamecube and the series didn't have the success it currently does, which lead to a lighter production of copies. Either way, it's rare now, and I picked this up at a Wal-Mart or Target when they had used gamecube games.
Skies of Arcadia Legends
Current Price Range - $50 - 100 (Gamecube)
While I'm on the topic on the Gamecube, I've got a few other pricy games on the system, one of them being Skies of Arcadia Legends, the hit RPG title from the Dreamcast, which got ported to the Gamecube. I heard about how this was an excellent RPG, so I bought it and yeah, enjoyed it quite a lot. Excellent cast of characters, fun combat system, and the game is PIRATE THEMED. Now that is cool. While it may not be as rare as my previously mentioned games, it's still quite a valuable and excellent title to own. If you have the Dreamcast original, major props to you.
Gotcha Force
Current Price Range: $100 - 300 (Gamecube)
Now here's a weird title. Probably one no one's heard of, Gotcha Force. A weird game made by Capcom about kids fighting off evil toy like creatures with their own toy like characters. It's kind of like Pokemon!.. Well, maybe not. It's a sort of 3D battle arena game where you set up a team of toy characters and battle enemy toy units. It's a weird game, but after my friend showed me it, I became quite interested. So I bought a used copy later on. I guess since no one knew about it, it became an obscure title and now fetches for a hefty price. Mine's not complete, sadly.
Solatorobo
Current Price Range: $80 - 200 (Nintendo DS)
Here's another odd title, Solatorobo. Honestly, I don't know much about this one. I haven't played it much either. I just remember I saw previews of this game and decided to buy it. I recall it was a sort of sequel to a PS1 game with animals riding on machines, but that's about it. It has become a rare game it looks. Perhaps it was a limited niche title release towards the end of the DS's line. Either way, I still have the complete package.
Bomberman: The 2nd Attack
Current Price Range: $100 - 200 (Nintendo 64)
Now we're getting to the old stuff. Since I was young, I've loved Bomberman. The 64 games are most favorite of titles when it comes to Bomberman. When I heard Bomberman 64 was getting a sequel, I was so excited!!! However, this game barely got any marketing, to the point where I had to closely follow the release date for it and seek it out in stores. I did find it, but... that was it. No one really talks about this title. Which is too bad, because it's pretty interesting. It's sort of a fusion of Mega Man as well, with armor upgrades and special themed bombs. It's one I still enjoy. Sadly, since I was young when I got this, only the cart survived... Still expensive though.
Mega Man X2
Current Price Range: $100 - 300 (SNES)
This is a strange one. Even though you can get this on various collections and VC, the cart still had a high price. I suppose people still prefer the real deal, sticking it into your old system and switching the power button on. There's not much I need to say about this one. It's Mega Man X2, one of the best games on the system, and best overall franchise of the past! It's one of my all time favorite games of all time. Luckily, I only bought this for $30 back in the day.
Chrono Trigger
Current Price Range: $100 - 300 (SNES)
Last, but not least, and also strange, Chrono Trigger. Despite being re-released on so many devices, I suppose people still have a thing for the old original grey cart. And what more can be said about CT? It's one of the best RPGs ever made, and my current no. 1 RPG of all time. A timeless masterpiece that is always a joy to play. Sadly, I only got the cart, but just having this is good enough for me, as it's a pretty important title, at least for me.
Phew, and there you have it. My rarest and most valuable games I have. What are your rarest games?
Dance my pretties!
