Forums - Gaming Discussion - Yooka Laylee remove 'controversial' Youtuber JonTron from game

I can't believe I have backed this game. The truth hurt too much even for the developers who have no business with this sort of thing.

I couldn't cancel from kickstarter but I'm going to chargeback on the credit card and then pirate it.

Its a fucked up thing to say, but Im not going to label him a racist because of it. At no point in the several years Ive known about him has he done or said anything racist, so theres no pattern here. If he continues to speak like this, then I will change my mind. I highly doubt he will though.

Of course he's hasn't said anything racist in your opinion when you dismiss everything racist as not racist.

Well then what in your opinion has he said in the past thats racist?

You don't need a pattern.  You don't say such things without believing them.

Imagine back in 1964 when the Civil Rights Acts were passed.  All the racists that were against it stopped publicly saying racists things.  That didn't stop them from being racists.  My point being that you don't have to say racists things constantly to be racist.  You just have to open your mouth once and remove all doubt.

Im sure he did believe what he said at the time, but he explained that he was wrong about several things in his apology video. Its just harder for me to label someone something based on a few minutes out of their entire lives.

Good thing the dude doesn't give a fuck as he said in a stream with Hammurabi of Babylon, but why? For what purpose?

Oh wow, even Destiny is opposed to Playtonic Game's decision and he's the one who debated JonTron.

Oh boy, you know it's bad when the SCII player, who loses his collective shit at almost anything, is the one who thinks it's a bad idea for them to do this.

I don't agree with jon's views, but I do think it's a tad stupid of Playtonic to go about removing him in such a way. Also I find it just as stupid that someone in this very thread, thinks it's perfectly viable to blame a fanbase for the game not selling well, rather than the game posibly not selling well in general, but nope, gotta label a fan base to torch to death for reasons.

JonTron is now a neonazi? Guy is pretty dumb, but when people throw out the most heinous labels they can think of, it only weakens what you're saying.

If you dont know what nazism means and what comments like "brown people weaken our gene pool" means then you probably shouldn't be talking about these topics.

But lets not call him a neonazi, fine, he's just a regular racist, those guys are normal and less heinous than neonazis. "JonTron is just dumb and doesnt know what he's saying" is just another silly excuse to normalize his behavior, he's a sane grown ass man, he knows what he's saying.

While I haven't experienced a dictator firsthand like you may have, I like to think I have a good idea of what Nazism is. I don't think it's a equivalent to what JonTron said. It's too easy to argue against what he said without calling him a Nazi.

So many idiots choosing not to buy Yooka-Laylee because of the JonTron fiasco . I can't even say I'm surprised anymore.

What next? Are people gonna stop watching My Little Pony for supporting gun control?

Look, I don't agree with what Jon said, and guess what? He's being mature about it. So is Playtonic. It's not like they suddenly reacted with "Feck you ya bloody right-wing wanker, suck our willies!!", or something like that. They're just distancing themselves from controversial statements.

And despite this there are people constantly saying "Hurr durr, I won't buy teh Yooka-Laylee no cuz no Jon, durr, they's SJWs!!".

Just stop whining and bitching about Jon not being in Yooka-Laylee, enjoy the game if you want it, but shut up about it okay?!

Remember how people were gonna protest Dead or Alive Xtreme 3? Or Infinite Warfare?

Yeah, nothing happened much. The hate died quickly, and had basically no relevance on sales.

Are you for real? What part of "wealthy black people commit more crimes than poor white people" is not racist?

People like you are just unbelievable. It's so hard calling a neonazi a neonazi when you're biased as hell.

I dont watch Jon Jafari's vids but apparently he has said many racist things in the past like using the N word but people laughed it off as a joke, little did they know he was serious all this time. There are more gems to be found in the Gaf thread about him.

It only took a few minutes of that White supremicist's life to go into a church and kill black people, it also only took a few minutes for that Kramer to go off on a racist tirade so I don't think you're putting forward a good case here tbh, those few minutes may actually show who the person actually is, just saying.
