Forums - Sony Discussion - Opinion: With PSNow, the PS4 seems like a waste of money

Not if you are only gonna play old games.

Well... A few things

Firstly of course, the input lag won't be anywhere as good as playing the game on the system
Secondly, we don't know which ps4 games are coming to psnow or how long before a certain game will come
Thirdly, can you even play games online?

The Value is good on paper but until they announce which games are coming which will ultimately unveil their strategy, I wouldn't jump the gun just yet even if you are willing to only play single player games with the input lag.

Yes you can play games online. I was playing the old PS3 game Warhawk not too long ago. With that said I experienced very little input lag with Warhawk (10 mbps internet).

wow people are still playing warhawk!? i may have to knock off the rust and get back into it. top 3 ps3 game for me.

I still don't understand Sony, they should be going after the Lovefilm -amazon/Netflix audience. They have music, movies, tv shows and games and PSN+, they should bundle it all up and have a single subscription. They would make a packet.

Making an indie game : Dead of Day!

some people actually really think that Sony is going to kill their currently worldwide best selling console

Opinion: Oh hell no. I would rather have a PS3 than Now, nevermind PS4.

Available on the crappiest PCs? I don't think so. I'm using Remote Play a lot and it doesn't run decent on anything below i5. I have a tablet with a Pentium and it works there, but not at 1080/60p. More like 720/30p. I don't know what Remote Play needs the processing power for, but I'm guessing there is some serious encoding/decoding going on or something. And I'm pretty sure PS Now uses the same technology. So I wouldn't try playing that on a crappy PC unless you like lag and stutter.

Edit: just checked, PS Now runs at 720/60p. So if you like good image quality, the PS4 is definitely not useless.

I dunno.

Streaming could cause some technical problems. Plus you don't get to keep the games when you unsubscribe. And you've no control over what games enter/exit the rotation.

Is there a rotation? I thought once games qare available they are there permanently.

Oh, maybe so. I figured every now and then a game or series might get pulled, a la Netflix. I'll defer to others for the definitive answer.

Physical games > Streaming anyway.

No because PSNOW is terrible.  I have 100 MB internet and the input lag was horrific.

No Gracias.
