I think the way to reboot it is to give the IP to Shin'en (fast neo devs), and fund them somewhat. A $30-$40 budget F-zero is the way to go IMO. Ratchet reboot being $40 was a huge selling point for many people.

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

As cool as games like Fast Racing and Redout are, F-Zero GX had a surprisingly strong single player which I don't think either of those games (or those studios) could emulate.

The Fast Racing Neo devs should be paid to make it, but without this stupid color switching bs that ruins the game. I would prefer a game like F-Zero X because Sega did not make a good job with GX / AX in my opinion. It did not feel like a Nintendo game. But they could also offer a HD remake of GX with the cheat code to unlock the AX tracks already applied.

The phase switching doesnt ruin the game at all, what are you talking about!!!

I don't think they need to bring it back when Fast Racing exists

FAST Racing doesn't have the quirky characters that F-Zero is known for though.

With F-Zero you had drivers such as a bounty hunter, a doctor, a space pirate, a police woman, a hitman, a cyborg, a gang leader, a trucker, etc.

With FAST Racing all you have is just futuristic race cars.

Don't forget about the music. F-Zero on SNES has an amazing soundtrack.

It's what we've wanted Nintendo to do for far too long.

But how would they go about doing so? A new F-Zero game would need to sell a lot, and I do mean a lot, in order to convince Nintendo to bring the franchise back.

Maybe have the makers of the FAST Racing games do it? Or maybe the people who did F-Zero X back then are still around.

They'd also need to market it, but how? I was thinking maybe promote it at real-world auto racing events, like the Indy 500 or Formula 1 GPs.

And what about promotional merchandise? It worked for Pokemon, so why not?

There's a reason it doesn't exist anymore, F-Zero doesn't have many fans. Nintendo also doesn't do passion projects that could be losing money. They're risk averse and bank so hard on Mario and few other core franchises lately.

Looks like REDOUT could satiate the F-Zero itch.

Neither FAST nor Redout plays like F-Zero. It should be done by Nintendo or someone like Sega with a history in arcade racers.

I wouldn't trust Western devs with Japanese IPs.

Fast has the foundation right. It needs more icing and it will be worth $60.

In 50 years if we are lucky.

And in F-Zero X we got an even better soundtrack.

I haven't played that game so I wouldn't know. But the thing both of those games have in common is what? They're both made internally by Nintendo.

F-Zero, Wave Race, 1080 .... lets go.
