God damn. Switch for the win. Supply restraint and still had a minor drop + high week.

MHXX did bad though.

Last but not least... I think switch will go up next week like i said awhile back. Splatoon2 so huge the demo going to be making people buy the system lol

Also Zelda legs even wiiu surprisingly. Over 330k sold

Your comment about Splatoon 2 better be a joke. Nobody here knows how Nintendo is distributing Switch supply worldwide, so a hardware increase next week may not even be theoretically possible because there aren't going to be more than 50k units available.

As for Monster Hunter, if I was a fan of the series, I'd skip the 3DS version of this Generations update and wait for the inevitable Switch version with higher definition graphics. This is Capcom, after all. From a business perspective it didn't make sense to announce it for Switch when it was bound to have a later release which in turn would reduce the number of double-dippers.

I think this week will be their 2nd big wave of shipments, we got reports of some major US retailers getting big shipments and i think the same will hold true for Japan due to the Global Testfire.

And I agree about MHXX, its going to be like MH3.

MH3-2009, MH3G-2011, MH3G HD-2012

MHX-2015, MHXX-early 2017, MHXX HD-late 2017

Great legs for Horizon, Zelda and the Switch. But what's this trend with the declining of big 3DS franchises?

I have said this bfore, and some probably thought i was crazy.... Switch as a whole would canibalize the 3DS..... its kinda hard not looking at the Switch as the natural successor of the 3DS. Kinda the same way how teh release of the PS4 canibalized sales of GT6 on the PS3.

Horrible numbers for Sword Art Online and Monster Hunter... :(

3DS is currently flat YoY in Japan so Switch hasnt cannibalized it at all.

As for Monster Hunter, it could simply be franchise fatigue, this is the 5th major MH title on 3DS in in just over 5 years.

Actually i predicted it before (4th week will be up) and like zorg said there will be more shipment this week (at least what i heard for in japan)

Dont be surprised for 70k in japan next week ;p

Bro you need to check those numbers again!

Edit: beaten by zorg once again

I'll be curious to see Monster Hunter on Switch someday (2018?) and how that affects the series and platform.

what is up with the reader reviews for MHXX?

I think we could see an HD version of MHXX on Switch this holiday or perhaps early next year with Monster Hunter V for holiday 2019
