With GTA5 selling 100,000+ a week after 4 years of being released, will they release another Grand Theft Auto this generation? Does it make sense for them to? With GTA5 making the sales and a bunch of money online.

Just want to hear what people think. Rockstar has definitely changed how they make games. There used to be at least one game a year, now we haven't gotten a brand new game for 4 years. That should end this year if not next with Red Dead Redemption 2. With RDR2, if that takes off the same way GTA5 did, why would they release a GTA that would have their sales shrink? I think Rockstar will release RDR2 sometime next year, that will basically kill off the rest of GTA5 sales. Then at the end of the PS4 and XBones cycle (in 4 years) they will release GTA6 and then re-release GTA6 on PS5 and XboxNext.

Also what is stopping GTA5 from going to the Switch? Why does Nintendo and Rockstar not work well together?

I have no clue, but I think Rockstar will be focusing on Red Dead for the time being. As for GTA 5 for Switch, I can see it happening in the future if it goes on to get great success, they released GTA Chinatown Wars for DS so it's not like they've no history with Nintendo platforms. I think it's just not something that is their number 1 priority right now but something they'll do in the future when they're less busy and if the Switch gets the necessary hardware sales and third party software sales they're looking for to be interested.

I predict they're gonna do the same exact thing they did with GTA V. Release the game only on PS4 and XB1 just a few months before the next-gen consoles release, then about 9-12months after the PS5 and new XB are out release it for those platforms and then another few months later release it for the PC.
It's a great way to get people to buy your game multiple times. Lets be real here, if GTA V didn't release in September 2013 on last gen consoles and November 2014 on current gen consoles but instead released in November 2013 across all 4 platforms (PS3, PS4, XB360 and XB1) then last gen sales would have been wayyyy lower.

For that franchise it doesn't matter anymore, they can release gta 6 at the end of the generation or in the middle of the next generation, it's going to sell. 2020 is my bet.

What is stopping any gta from going to the switch or any Nintendo console? I can play gta on my phone but not on Nintendo consoles, so the answer would be "pride" you know, because of the past... and the other answer "we don't give a shit about Nintendo" They treat PC gamers as second class citizen, but at least they treat them.

I'd say yes but Rockstar might stick to their winning formula to maximise sales.
Release 2019 on XB1 and PS4, next gen will kick off at the end of 2019 but the PS5 and Xbox Two versions won't get a release until 2020.

Next year around the same time GTAV released, more than likely. That would be 5 years between main games starting from IV. Or maybe they really want to impress again and will be releasing something in 2019 months before the next consoles, like they did with V

At first I hated the idea of the GTA cross gen a year apart. But it actually makes for an amazing game; first the limits are set by the current generation, and they make the best game they possibly can on that. Then for the next year make the game look, run, and play better on the next gen (while also adding some extra things tht couldn't be in last gen), for the ultimate version.

i just hope they make bully 2 instead of GTA6
