Everybody knew WiiU would be already dead in 2017, plan yourself better. That said, of course it makes sense now, I don't have many hopes for this game anyways, but if its good it will do pretty well on Switch.

Only once we knew Zelda got delayed to 2017.
I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016
This email was more confirmation that the Wii-U backers are automatically converted to Switch backers.
I'm cool with that. I'll just get it on the Switch.

Good. I'm sure there's a handful of Wii U owners who will be disappointed, but as a backer I would much rather they put their resources towards a platform that will help them be successful than squander it all on a dead console. The Switch is a perfect place for the game; I'm excited to have a metroidvania on a Nintendo handheld once again!
Some may be upset but with this game delayed to 2018 this only makes sense. This isn't nearly as bad as the bungled Yooka-Laylee cancelation or the travesty that was Project Cars.
