Forums - Nintendo Discussion - I truly hope Nintendo stops disappointing gamers now that the Switch is a success

You cant say a system is a success with only two weeks on the market. The early signs are encouraging though.

Wait, the Switch is now a success? After two weeks and a good launch period? Even the Wii U had a nice launch window. Let's wait and see before we start uncorking the champagne. Personally, I think their decision to double production will mostly lead to excess stock and flooded channels post-holidays.

Not really possible. No matter what they do it will disappoint some people, because everybody expects different things from them and they can't meet all of those expectations at once.

Nintendo has been disapointing certain people since the SNES so, I agree. Some people will never be happy.

Just because you want something from Nintendo, doesn't mean all Nintendo fans or even the majority wants the same as you - speak for yourself!

Skyward Sword was designed around motion controls and a lot of it cannot be done with standard controls. I for one love Skyward Sword, partially because of the motion controls, and I know a lot of Zelda fans who agree with me.

You might say that it is always nice to have the option to use standard controls, but I might as well complain about all those games that doesn't have the option of turning motion controls on. Why can't I use motion controls in Breath of the Wild, The Last of Us, Uncharted, Gears of War or Xenoblade Chronicles?

Is the Switch a success? I do not see that yet, only time will tell. There are huge problems with 3rd party support and there will be a lack of games throughout the year. The system is also heavily overpriced and the battery does not last long enough.

Nintendo doubling production does not mean they can sell more. They also overestimated Wii-U demand and the large number of overproduced consoles lasted for years.

they produced more Wii U's and Switch's for different reasons

Wii U: They had terrible logic, believing that if the Wii sold 100 million, then the Wii U could as well. That resulted in a lot of extra stock.

Switch: It is sold out in many regions, so they need to make more. they started with 2 million in March to be careful, but that isn't enough

Even Sega Dreamcast was looking like a success the 1st year and half; better to wait and see, like any new console.

No not first year. First couple months. SEGA new they were in trouble early but hoped a killer lineup would help sales. They even got desperate giving away Dreamcast's if you signed up with SEGANET. Japanese launch was not very good. US one was but after the first few months sales were slowing way down. Looming shadow of PS2 was already killing the hype on DC even before we knew what it looked like.

I agree! Disappointing gamers are the worst! Nintendo should stop them.

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

Switch isn't a success yet, maybe it'll never be one, WiiU also sold like 3.5m in a month. Moreover, you aren't a Zelda fan, because you'd have known BotW now is a hundred times better than it ever could have been had they rushed it to release in 2015.

OK bud.

Exactly my toughts even the Wii U it's first month was promising. Yet that didn't make it very succesful though.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar
