Forums - Gaming Discussion - Name a favorite game of yours and one big thing you would change

We get caught up in touting our favorite stuff so much I thought it would be good to take a look inward for once.  Let's take a look at one or multiple of our favorite games and criticize.  No game is perfect so there's always something to improve.

I'll pick a recent example.  I love Horizon Zero Dawn but I thought after playing it that there was big missing part in the world design.  There are no huge wreckages of cities.  I mean there are some buildings here or there but where is the Fallout style UUUUGE cities?  They have snow, dessert, forrest, etc. but no big metro areas to explore.

My other big thing with it is just how gridded out everything is.  There are no spontaneous robo dino attacks.  It's always "this is where this is located, if you want it go there"  They could have thrown in some Skyrim like random enemies that show up and wreck your plans.  It was lacking that element of spontaneous combat that I like in open world games sometimes.  If I was fighting a thunder bird and then a T-rex showed up or a band of eclipse it would add a cool new element.  Also some stealth human enemies would be cool

I wish Other M had more exploration from the start. Although the entire ship opens up for exploration post game.

Pokemon Open world like BotW

Make Deus Ex even longer, with White House and other levels that were scrapped.

Deus Ex (2000) - a game that pushes the boundaries of what the video game medium is capable of to a degree unmatched to this very day.

Remove snipers from Battlefield.

Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn. All it really needs is the ability to summon enemies at certiain maps (like Awakening and Fates) for post game content and online. If it had those two, it would be perfect for me.

The Legend of Dragoon. Change most of the voice actors. It's the only real downside to the game as far as I'm concerned. Every other issue is too minor for me to really complain about.

Xenoblade Chronicles.

Nerf that boss that keeps saying "YOU WILL PAY FOR YOUR INSOLENCE."

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

I'd love it if the late parts of Metal Gear Solid 2 weren't as linear as they are. I wish they were more like the earlier parts of the game, where you're free to move freely and you're even somewhat encouraged to do so.

Pokemon-

They had the story perfectly executed in gen 5. Sun and moon had an ok story, but I still think it'd be better if we see more plot development.

Also, post game content. Sun and moon got very boring after the game. Many of the mainline entries suffer the same thing. Only soul silver did it perfectly, as you got to go to Kanto afterwords. You even had a lot of other cool things to do.

I hope Game freak gets a bigger budget this time to give Pokémon the BotW treatment it deserves
