Forums - General Discussion - Iron Fist : Are we going to talk about thé crazy bashing ?

I sort of agree with the critics. It's not bad as 16% rotten tomatoes rating, but it is mediocre. The writing is awful, and pacing is bad. It has good parts but it definitely is not a very tightly written show.

I dont think the writting is worse than JJ( After thé first stylished épisode , thé writing is just décent when you discover Kilgrave ) or LC ( is there éven à writing in this one ? )

Of course if you dont liké Marvel Netflix productions outside Daredevil, you wont liké this one

If he were Asian, they'd be accused of stereotyping. No win situation.

While the bashing is a bit exaggerated, I do feel a lot of the criticism is justified. I honestly dont like the show that much. Its the worst so far from the defenders characters. The story is terribly lazy and focuses too much on aspects we should take for granted and that we, as audience, already now. Like Danny's identity or corporate meetings.

It seems really weird for me for critics to go "I can't believe they didn't put an Asian guy in the lead of the kung fu show! How racist!"

It's more of being tired of the White Savior trope. Where a random white guy can show up in the land where Kung-Fu originated and be able to dominate the art faster and better than any of the locals can who've been training for their entire lives? That's a cliche that frankly is bullshit. Add to the fact it would have been easy for them to cast Danny as Asian/White mix or just switch Iron Fist with Shang Chi (The true master of Kung-Fu in The Marvel Universe) would have avoided everything.

Black Women Are The Most Beautiful Women On The Planet.

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

The same goes for Daredevil, JJ and LC, WE know who they are but thé shows build the arriving of their alter ego in thé city.

So really weird criticism if you liké thé others , especially since i read it words for words from One journalist.. thats One of thé problème of Bad critics,  à lot of  people are influenced by it when they judge thé show

Couldn't it be that most reviewers just think it's... bad? I've seen the first episode and it seems really good, just as I thought Luke Cage was really good. But there have been plenty of cases where o found a series or movie to be great while reviewers hated it. It doesn't do the lead actor any favors that he is also making himself the victim. It's not white, superrich people the critics dislike, but rather racist, superrich, priviliged white people that use others Iron fist doesn't seem to be about such a person...

Hum lol ? Its l'îke thé story or every Heroe " thé chosen  One masters in very few Time what others take decades to master" , no matter thé skin color that is irrelevant in this cliché common to most heroes, so why focus on thé white color ? If you dont liké this type of clichés why éven bé interested in Marvel Super Heroes beczuse 90% of them ARE clichés.

Thats pretty Silly to Want to totally change thé character's origin to suit à political opinion.

Thé Guy is supposed to bé a rich Man who has his rich parents killed in à plane accident , hé is supposed to learn kung fu from 0 as à child, being asian wouldnt have changed thé fact its cliché ( and itd bé even à bit racist to think that beczuse youre asian youre supposed to bé better in martial art, in fact, that is thé Big cliché, thé irony to replace a normal Heroe cliché by à bigger cliché)

Nop beczuse  reviewers talked about thé fact hes white as à flaw éven before watching thé show, they were biased. I followed thé Bashing ans it was ridiculous.

And yes it is white/rich people that à lot of people dislike, since  just being white makes you privileged for a lot of them

Watched a couple of episodes, and so far, it's pretty meh.

They've set up a sort of pseudo mystery about Danny, but we've been given no reason to care. There are no stakes so far. Daredevil, Jessica, and Luke are all trying to save others in their first episode, but Danny is just having a conflict with his half-siblings. Aside from the fact that Danny seems somewhat nice, and his stepbrother is a douche, I'm not sure exactly why I should care.
