Actually it's both handheld and console. It doesn't matter where the hardware where is. Play it as a console, and/or a portable. It's up to you.

Some are saying things like "errhhh da Switch is a handheld lol I'm so smart" or "the Switch is a console, not a handheld".

I do not understand some people sometimes- how hard is it to comprehend the Switch? Weren't casuals supposed to be the ones confused over this? Here we are whining over whether a hybrid is a console or a handheld. Smh.

A hybrid laptop is generally one which combines (keep this word in mind) the usability of a traditional laptop and tablet together. A reference would be the Yoga. Many hybrid laptops are flexible, have a touch screen, and yet keep the same processor. It simply just finds a sweet spot for both sides.

You seem to constantly move the goal line for the Switch. How the hell is it not a hybrid? You can literally use the damn console like any other console. You can also take it outside like any other damn console.

A hybrid console/handheld doesn't need to have separate processors just to make it a hybrid.

Chances of it happening other than the port of that Online game are slim to none. Nintendo handhelds sell the best in any market esp Japan where the game sells like crazy. Nintendo has had some exclusive deal,but for how long I dunno. I guess as long as Nintendo wants to slip them some Yen. So yeah I don't get it either. I even saw a post port begging to Xbox One rofl.

I have stated the one requirement for the console in question to be a hybrid and you are saying I, "constantly move the goal line..." like... wow.

How you use something does not determine what that something is. I already used two examples to prove that point. Wii U is not a hybrid. It is a home console. I use those standards, consistently, to determine if something is a home console, handheld console, or hybrid.

It is OK for you to think you are correct. But speaking in a literal sense, this console is a handheld with awesome features... just like a laptop with a touchscreen (my laptop for example) is not a hybrid, it is a laptop that has a touchscreen. My cellphone has a lot of computer technology in it, and I use it like a computer more than my own computer and more than I use it as a cellphone. But it is not a hybrid, it is a cellphone. I cannot be more clear:

Home console: Computer processing is in the docked station with no additional processing in the controller or handheld unit (see: Wii U).

Hybrid: Computer processing is in both the docked station as well as the handheld unit (I have no example because one does not exist).

Handheld: All computer processing is done within the handheld unit. The dock holds no processing (see: Switch).

Goalposts are set, right there. I have not and will not budge from this position.

See, this is why i cba with fans. What is it's main function? Where is it at it's full power? When it's docked. That's it. You have the option to underpower it and take it around, so it has that option. Now please, come up with all the convuluted twists i don't care about.

Seriously though, this has nothing to do with what we were discussing. I don't believe a monster unter HD will be exclusive to switch, but we'll see. That's all. I don't care about your views on wether you think it's a portable or not. 

You need to learn to make sense because you never make any.

Isn't monster hunter 3 already an HD game on Wii u? If you want a new HD game released at the same time as 3ds that is a different story
