Forums - Gaming Discussion - Monster Hunter Finally Hinted on HD Home Console??

IF we're talking about a HD remaster we already had MHTri on Wii U in 2011.

Inevitably the Switch will get its own Monster Hunter in the next few years.

Theres no doubt its coming to the Switch! But the question of will it be a Switch Exclusive still remains.

That actually doesn't matter to me. But I NEED it on Switch. Don't care if it is on 3DS or phones too.

IMO, The series ( I am not talking about the frontier ) will come to PS4/XBOX/Switch one or just PS4 or PS4 / switch combo (more inclined with this one). Switch for Japan and PS4 worldwide.

I have a gut feeling that they are already thinking of expansion outside of Japan sooner or later the series will  start to decline in Japan with a lot of MonHun that was release on 3DS.

Sony already have a bargaining chip with the success of PS4. Capcom won't be able to ignore it anymore by not releasing a real MonHun in it.

As  for MonHun XX HD. Yes. High probability of being NSW exclusive but as for the main one I Expect it to be multi plat.

why did Capcom go to Nintendo? PSP gave it tremendous success. Also with PS4's install base they should make it on PS4

Because Sony crashed and burned with the Vita, while the 3DS had tremendous success. Also Monster Hunter sales come primarily from Japan, the sales would be nowhere near as good on a Home Console than a Portable Console, the only reason it would come to the Switch is that it just happens to both.

I can see a ps4/switch release. Especially WW. Decline in japan? Maybe but we shouldnt based that on G versions or MHX as thats its own thing (slightly)

That daid MH in the west was hugely successful on 3DS in the West. If it were Switch exclusive it wouldnt be unsuccessful at all (outside japan)

Switch is not a home console. It is a handheld.

Considering what happened with the Vita it seems like the correct option. Although Nintendo did help them a lot to make the transition.

Aso for the PS4, the Japanese install base isn't considerable as one might think.

But that's one of the main reasons Vita didn't do as well.  It would have been huge in Japan with Monster Hunter especially if it were close to launch.

It not being on Vita is one of the main reasons Vita declined so much in Japan.  It's a self fulfilling prophecy if you go "well we can't bring the games that sell consoles to your console because it's not selling well"

Yes pleases, Monster Hunter on Nintendo Switch
