Forums - Gaming Discussion - So... what exactly is wrong with ME: Andromeda?

A lot.

Voice acting
Characters
Dialogue
Lip sync
Direction ( or lack of) during interactions
Story
Forced exposition
Peebee is a jar jar binks of the ME universe.

And then you have the hair, the skin tones, the character shapes, the ugly females, the hollister model as the main character... it's endless really.

I can't really say it's shit yet, but it's throwing up some red flags. The animation glitches are one thing, but what really gets me is just how ugly the female character is. I mean why? Did noone on the team notice she's ugly as shit? How did noone say anything?

It might seem like a silly thing to worry about, but when such an obvious flaw was literally staring them in the face, it's concerning that it wasn't fixed.

Haven't had any of those issues. Story seems to be going slow, and lip sync is a bit off, but I'm not having any of these other issues.

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

BioWare's game designer has some choice words

Well, thats interesting. Still haven't noticed the game being affected because of this...

I was turned off by almost everything I read about DA2, so it's the one Bioware game I have never bought. DA Origins was great. Still need to go back to play ME 1 and 3. I loved ME2. KOTOR 1 and 2 are all time favs.

Dragon Age 2 certainly had it's flaws, some big glaring ones in-fact.
But I still enjoyed it for what it was.

It's interesting that a "shit" Bioware game I still find enjoyable.

I'll raise you a Baldurs Gate or Neverwinter Nights to your KOTOR. ;)

I'm sure DA2 was fine in it's own right, but l'll probably never get around to it. I did 6 full playthroughs of KOTOR. It's in the mix for my best game of all time.  It's splitting hairs though. Great dev historically.

Well, I would guess the first problem you'll run into is that you opinion is going to differ from others.
From the voice acting I've heard, the dialogue selections, and the animations I've seen, it seems like a huge drop from ME standards. I only played ME2, and I didn't like it, but when I was playing it, it was clearly a AAA game.

You know, it's like that first final fantasy movie they made, spirits within. Storyline and acting (outside a couple characters) were bad. I mean, not bad, but really quite bland and predictable. It wasn't interesting. However, the whole time I was watching it, I did think to myself, "wow, they really did an amazing job with the animation"

That was how I felt with ME2.
This one, I mean I don't know bro. It's someone's opinion versus yours. My opinion is just, I don't respect it from what I've seen.

Another example would be fallout 4. Honestly, I thought the game was boring AF, even though I loved 3. But while I played it, I was like, "wow, they really did a great job, it's just not that interesting *to me*".

EDIT: That line that goes, "sorry my face is tired". Like, it's borderline original resident evil acting quality. smh

TL;DR: opinions vary. Some people have really high expectations for certain franchises. People shit on Resident Evil 6, and 5, but loved 7. You know, if you love it, great! Just seems silly to challenge people's opinions when you seem happy with your purchase.

He seems very anti-white.
People need to look past race/skin colour.

I actually memorized that movie word for word at one point. Hah.

It's cool that you can make that distinction in the face of personal disappointment. It's happened to me a few times over the years. The Virtua Fighter series is a good example.

This is a very good point brought up by someone in a youtube video:
"It's like the founders of Bioware left or the game was missing the Director, the Producer, all the previous Senior writers, the Lead Writer (left in 2), all the older experienced artists and Unreal Engine guys were replaced by inexperienced guys on a new engine, and the lead writer in 3 (who did not write Tuchanka or Rannoch which were high points) who solo lead wrote that awesome ME 3 ending and a really bad comic book was promoted."

Some people, like myself, can notice the change. Some find new qualities. It's all up to the individual, and I think the number of people we've seen having bad thoughts of this game....I guess they simply notice the bad more, while there are some that notice the good.

It's not like the majority of bad reviews are coming from the peanut gallery. These are people who have played and reviewed the game.
