As perdicted, when Sony removed PSnow from the PS3:

PlayStation 3 will soon end production in Japan, according to the official Japanese PlayStation website. The page for the 500 gigabyte standard model, the only remaining PlayStation 3 model in production in Japan, mentions that “shipments are scheduled to end soon.”

While a specific date is unknown a game shop in Kurume, Fukuoka seems to have suggested in a tweet that it received notification that production will end in March.

I just looked at the latest charts and you're wrong. Wii U sold more than PS3.

More importantly, those are all devices selling in the hundreds weekly in Japan. They're all dead in Japan.

I'm confused 'PS3 production to end in Japan'. Does that mean they are stopping selling them in Japan or is there some sort of limited manufacturing there now stopping. PS3's are mostly made in China.
