It helps me keep track of what I've played and what score I've assigned to each game. Plus I can keep track of when I played a game last, and determine if something needs replaying and reevaluating.

Also, I just like making lists :)

If we're counting spin-offs, then Mario for sure (I've played too many to count). Zelda comes in at a close second, with 6 games.

It's difficult to gauge with so many spin-offs, remasters and whether include ones you haven't completed.

My most played are Resident Evil, Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasy and Call of Duty, all with around 7 games each.

Let's see, I've played all the classic Mega Man games, plus all the X games until X5, some of the Gameboy games and one Battle Network game, in total that would add up to... 17 games.

All the major Mario games except New Super Mario Bros. 2, so that's 15.
11 games in the Legend of Zelda series.
10 Metroid games (if we count AM2R which I totally am)
10 titles in the Metal Gear series.
9 Sonic games.

I'm fairly sure mine has to be Final Fantasy, With all the mainline series, Tactics, Crystal Chronicles, World of FF, remasters and other spinoffs I'm sure it takes the most played crown for me.

Final Fantasy, i have played so many titles I've lost count.

5) Metroid (10 titles)

My actual favorites among these though are Metroid and Final Fantasy.

It's probably Mario in number of different titles played.
Most time spend is Everquest with 4 years and 8 expansions played.
