So, I've been working on a database of all the games I've played -- like my buddy BasilZero (come back, Baz!).

And I started counting the series that kept popping up the most. Most were expected, but I was surprised at number five.

1) The Legend of Zelda (18 titles)
2) Super Mario (15 titles)
3) Castlevania (12 titles)
4) Metroid (11 titles)
5) Call of Duty (10 titles)

What are your most played series? Are they your favorite series, or just the ones you've played the most?

Fallout in terms of time spent. Mods are love.

In terms of total games played, Final Fantasy would be at the top. Next ... jeez, I dunno, maybe Suikoden with 6? I don't really play many series with a bunch of sequels, at least not where I've played all of them. Only played 3 Elder Scrolls games. Oh, Gran Turismo with 5 games played is on the list.

Edit:  Forgot about fighting games.  I've played all the main Soul Calibur games, so I guess that would be 6 games including Soul Edge.

League of legends by far

I'm feeling lazy to count them all. It should be:

1) Starcraft (2 main games, 3 expensions)
2) Warcraft (3 main strategy games, one MMO, many expensions and a card game)
3) Diablo (3 Main games and 3 Expensions)
4) Halo (7 games i think)

I used to be a grandmaster player on Starcraft 2 and practised daily, I also played Warcraft 3 competatively and Diablo 2 was my addiction I spent more time on then anyone has the right to. I think Total War and Age of Empires might also be high in the lists, and lets not forget Civilization, they are just games that eat time.

I added Halo cuz it was my high-school weekends bro weekend for many years and we used the original Xbox so much it has to be high, and since I used to be obsessed with Mario games when I was 14 and younger it also has a nice 5th spot

Long running mascot games for me

Mario Bros., Super Bros. 1, 2, 3, World, Land, 64, Sunshine, New 1, 2, New Wii, New U, Galaxy 1, 2, 3D Land
15 Titles and will add Odyssey in the next year.

Sonic 1, 2, 3, CD, Adve, Adve 2, Heroes, Adva, Adva 2, Adva 3, Rush, '06, Unleashed, Generations.
14 titles, and will add Mania and '17 to it in the next year.

Ratchet and Clank 1, 2, 3, Future 1, 2, 3, Booty, Nexus, Clank, All4One, Reboot
11 titles, and will add next one whenever it comes out

Honorable mention goes to FIFA and NHL series as have played those annual sport titles, but I only buy one every 3-5 years.

Do you mean most played as in time or titles owned? Eitherway, Final Fantasy (10-11 titles), Tekken (all minus the PS3 HD 5 version) and CoD (5) are up there, Wipeout too (4).

If it's time played, then Twisted Metal are up there but 3 and 4 never made it to PAL so it's mostly World Tour and Black.

Ah, I should have included Sonic and some of the licensed sports games in the poll!
