That's really good for a new IP. Congrats, Guerrilla.

Yeah, after Last of Us it looks like the marketing engine is building itself up. Thats the second first party new IP in two gens that Sonys had which sold very high, very quickly. This is awesome news!

Well if it is getting an expansion, this game goes on the back-burner for me until the inevitable GOTY edition comes out with everything included

Great sales though. 2.6m copies sold for a new IP releasing amongst some big competition is a great achievement. i think it will have decent legs too.

Sony's had some big success with their exclusives this gen. Uncharted reached new heights, Bloodborne did great, Horizon is fantastic, and then of course TLoU as a new franchise has sold great on both PS3 and PS4 plus a number of smaller successes. I think it's a bigger reason than most give credit for for their sales lead.

Just picked this up yesterday but didn't have time to start just yet. Can't wait! Sales are off to a great start as well. Congratulations Guerilla Games.

I remember when people were saying it was going to be one of the great flops of 2017. Hahaha! WHEW! Lemme wipe my eyes. Funny stuff in retrospect.

One of the reasons I like their exclusive lineups the most is because of their new blood every gen

just last gen they started Uncharted, Infamous, Resistance, TLoU, Littlbigplanet, etc

PS2 they started Ratchet and Clank, Jak and Daxter, Sly Cooper, God of War, Kingdom Hearts, and some others

PS1 they started Gran Turismo, Spyro, Crash, MGS, and more

They keep a few but a lot of times they move on to something entirely new which always gives me a nice mix of old and new

nice job. Whether you love it or not, there's no denying that Horizon Zero Dawn is obviously the result of a ton of hard work. Looks fantastic and plays well, quality at release.
Games like this should inspire other companies and studios to INDIVIDUALLY put more focus and effort on unique game experiences.

Horizon Zero Dawn has its OWN identity. And it excels at what it does. The likes of Ubisoft studios and others could learn from Guerrilla Games and other Sony devs who are putting their blood, sweat, and tears into developing individual unique games rather than just shoving out the same slop on rinse and repeat.

I think I speak for the majority of gamers when I say that most people would prefer FEWER games out that are all awesome (like a Horizon type game every 3 years) rather than an Assassin's Creed type game annually.

This is the sort of stuff that the industry needs. Games like this to do well and wake up the lazy third party companies that half ass it

Honestly didn't expect this when the game got announced at e3 last year. It looked meh, but I eventually was sold on it and might it. After having played it, gotta say well deserved. Definitely looking forward to the dlc.

Sounds alright. It could become an evergreen like TLOU.
