True - but JRPGs are making a comeback - in fact it seems like a complete revival on PS4. The cult following is more of a reason to do so than reception. I guess that's why Knack 2 is happening.

I got very hopeful about it earlier this gen.
Mark Cerny actually loves LoD, then he got to be PS4 lead designer and was given the chance to produce a game (Knack), then some rumors came about Sony messing with a FF competitor mid 2013 and I was really expecting it to mean LoD was coming back, but we are at 2017 and not a single word on anything about it, LoD 15th anniversary, happened during Sony's first PSX, which was a huge tribute event to their legacy, specially the PS1, and the thing was completely ignored, SO MANY games getting promoted as builders of Sony's PS 20th years and nothing even a glimpse about LoD, it was like it actually doesn't exist. Every time something else like this happen, like the revival or old franchises for smartphone games, or making a fucking game about their chars fighting each other, it just looks like Sony doesn't even remember it owns it.

On the other hand, when it was released for PSN at 2012 it was one of the most succesful classic games, topped the sales ranks for almost half a year straight and kept doing very well in the other months, or when they opened a poll last year for PS1 20th NA anniversary and LoD did very well only behind stuff like FF, MGS and Crash, people flooding the post section about LoD there, lots of online petitions and even a big event on Santa Monica's tweeter page to bring Dart to PASBR (that's what my #ReleaseDart joke was about, earlier here), players keep showing a big interest on it, and yet Sony keeps pretending LoD haven't ever existed, to the point I started to believe Sony has some legal issues preventing them from gettng too much on that topic, together with the fact that the game director just dissapeared after doing it (Yasuyuki Hasebe, just try to find ANYTHING about him after LoD), and I'm starting to developed conspiracy theories about it, lol, that's how far Sony "I don't give a single fuck" has gone for it...

I don't know man. I know they're not the same pedigree - but after TLG, FF VII Remake and Shenmue 3 all getting announced (or reannounced- all at the same conference no less) - I wouldn't count anything out.

That is a hard one. Until Dawn is absolutely amazing. Plus I haven't gotten around to Horizon just yet.

1)World of Final Fantasy.

2) Tales of Berseria.

3) Infamous second son

4) Uncharted 4

5) Even though it was on the ps2.. I'm going Odin sphere. That was insane.

Cool - how about upcoming?

Well it has to be Persona 5. Plus spiderman looks great.

Not sure about the others just yet.

Oddly enough? FF12. I love allt he international editions. I want to know what zodiac is like.

I really enjoyed Infamous: Second Son as well. Can't wait to see what SP has up their sleeves - they've been really tight lipped on what they are working on.

Some really good games there.

Heh, didn't ever say I don't understand it or it wasn't in-engine...
Anyway, my point was I need gameplay to be more excited for it than I'm for GoW now.

Cool.

I expect to see some of Sucker Punch's new game at this year's E3.

Yeah I heard it's a new IP, open world, possibly Western themed (based off of some supposed leaked concept art)

No gameplay = CG to me, doesn't actually need to mean it's not running on hardware, its still a cutscene xP

It's all CG, but there's a difference between pre-rendered, in-engine, and realtime (gameplay). Just trying to help one understand the differences. 😉

Lol, didn't BratLoD say it was CG. You corrected him by saying it's CG but he already said it was CG :p

Let's face it - when it comes to exclusives - Sony's been killing it this year so far.  They've already released enough exclusives to match last year's output- and it's only mid-March!:

Game / Date (Metascore)

Gravity Rush 2 / 1/20 (80)

Tales of Berseria / 1/24 (79)

Yakuza 0 / 1/24 (84)

Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue / 1/24 (77)

Nioh / 2/7 (87)

Horizon:  Zero Dawn / 2/28 (89)

Nier: Automata / 3/7 (88)

Danganronpa 1-2 Reload / 3/14 (84)

Last year was already a pretty good year for exclusives, and produced some great games and arguably the (and my own personal choice) game of the year in Uncharted 4:

Game (Metascore)

Gravity Rush Remastered (80)

Street Fighter V (77)

MLB: The Show 16 (85)

Ratchet & Clank (85)

Alienation (79)

Unhcarted 4: A Thief's End (93)

No Man's Sky (71)

World Of Final Fantasy (77)

The Last Guardian (82)

Even in the next couple of weeks- Sony's never-ending wave of exlusives continue with:

Kingdom Hearts 1.5 + 2.5 Remix 3/28

MLB: The Show 17 3/28

Parappa The Rapper Remastered 3/28

Persona 5 4/4

Drawn To Death 4/4

What Remains Of Edith Finch 4/28

Danganronpa: Another Episode 6/27

Crash Bandicoot N'Sane Trilogy 6/30

Final Fantasy XII Zodiac Age 7/11

It's what's in the pipeline beyond that that is most impressive - with a line of exlusives that will probably take us all the way through to the next console generation:

Days Gone

Death Stranding

Detroit: Become Human

Dreams

Final Fantasy VII Remake

God Of War

Gran Turismo Sport

Hellblade

Hot Shots Golf 7

Knack 2

Matterfall

Nex Machina

Spider-Man

The Last Of Us Part II

Uncharted - The Lost Legacy

Wild

Wipeout Omega Collection

I know some of these games are timed and/or console exclusives - and I've missed numerous other games - but this list is pretty god damn ridiculous!

That doesn't even include the next Sucker Punch game, along with Bloodborne 2 - both of which I'm expecting to be announced at this year's Sony E3 press conference.

Oh yeah- and there's also PSVR!

What do you think - could the PS4 end up having one of the greatest exclusives libraries of all time when all is said and done with this generation?

Greatness awaits!

The bolded games aren't PS4 or PS exclusives though... There are also games in there that Sony is not involved with, but just happen to be exclusive (because PS4 is the best selling console of this gen).

I want to hear your awesome logic on the bolded.
