Forums - Sony Discussion - The Great PlayStation Exclusive Renaissance!

When an Xbox One game is also available on PC, it's not exclusive and so called 'console exclusivity' isn't a thing.

When a PS4 game is also available on PC, it IS still an exclusive because, well, logic.

Did I get it right?

These threads are always a riot to read through.

To be fair, Sony isn't responsible for releasing the 3rd party exclusives, though its 1st party offerings have stepped up to the plate.

To be fair, majority of the exclusives released on the great PS2 were third parties too. Interesting fact; in the time of the PS2 majority of the sony published exclusives were collaborations with other publishers as back then that would have been the only way for the games to make it out of japan.

To OP. Yes, this is really the secret of every playstation platform. And one that I feel a lot of people take for granted. Sony may not give you more than 2 or 3 90+ games each generation, but they sure as hell will give you 20 or more 80+ games that cover nearly every genre.

Yeah - i almost always trade in third party games once I'm done with them- but always hold on to the exclusives. Want to say I have about 30 or so exclusives for my PS4 already - and I still play all of them over again from time to time.

I really liked The Order too and thought that including a young Tesla was fascinating. Still holding out hope for a sequel. I also think both Driveclub and Until Dawn were awesome games that were greatly underrated- and still think Bloodborne is game of this generation (so far).

Dude I LOVE Until Dawn!  And everyone I show it to ends up loving it.  I brought it to a very casual friend of mines because they were a horror fan and all of her roommates got into it too.  So much fun having everyone scream decisions at the TV while the person with the controller freaked out lol

I know, right? My first playthrough I had all but one of the kids left standing - but one decision towards the end killed all but two of them and I just said "Awwwww, aw, aw, awwww!" as they all died. LOL

weather you choose to accept or disregard the term console exclusive, doesn't change the gfact that if in addition to playing on PC you can only play it on one of three consoles makes it a console exclsuive.

I just think it's funny that when Microsoft announced that all future 1st party Xbox games would also be coming to PC, people like you started posting "Xbox has no more exclusives", but when a list like this shows up you're the first person here defending the idea of 'console exclusivity'.  It's just funny to me, that's all.  Not looking to start an argument.

Though in the context of "Xbox has no more exclusives", people saying that are talking about XB1 exclusives, as in games that you can play on the XB1 and only on the XB1. At least that is my interpretation of the statement.

EDIT: Anyways, CGI already warned everyone to keep things on topic, so we should put the full exclusive vs console exclusive debate to rest. If you want, you can make a separate thread.

I am happy people enjoy there consoles and PS4 has a grea tlineup of first- and third party exclusives but they should be used to play and not to fling towards others to feel better, im not saying that the case here.

Some people will prefer the PS4 offerings others the Xbox offerings and obv sales speak for themselves most people tent to like what Sony is doing right now, which is great for them.

It seems like PS4 is finally going to have a lineup that I enjoy this year. I haven't played any 2017 games for PS4 yet, but I'm looking forward to quite a few of them. I hope they live up to my expectations.

You should add Resident Evil 7 VR to the list. I mean, if we are going to stretch the meaning of "exclusivity", might as well go all out.
