Its also not just going up against the old consoles from 2013 but competing directly with the mid-cycle upgrades. People can disagree but the price between the PS4 Pro and Nintendo Switch is actually not a lot and the switch is priced well above the base ps4 and xbox one models. As a handheld its powerful enough but as a home console it won't deliver anywhere near the experience already available on the market. I am glad people are enjoying the device but the debates about the power are quite pointless its been very clear nintendo has no intention of joining the war to be "the most powerful console" on the market I think I gave up being able to play RDR2 or Mass Effect or Cyberpunk on a Nintendo system long ago |
Switch is still strong even in portable mode than Wii U, and Wii U was actually great home console for Nintendo games, and Switch can be only better.
Of Course that Nintendo has no intention of joining the war to be "the most powerful console" on the market, and what would be point when other two companies are already doing that, best Nintendo chances are to offer something different and new, not most "powerful hardware".
Having console thats stronger than Wii U or half of XB1 in form factor of Switch is very impressive.
