A Mistake....

Sources say there is potential interest in Michael B. Jordan to star, but much must be done before the project is ready to go.

At this point, the Wachowski siblings, who wrote and directed the original and its two sequels, are not involved and the nature of their potential engagement with a new version has not been determined. Certainly, Warners would want the two filmmakers to give at minimum a blessing to the nascent project. The studio had no comment.

I guess it was bound to happen...The first one is my favourite movie of all time, and even then I think that the second and third ones weren't necessary. The original ones don't really need to be remade, but alas if it makes money they're going to do it.

Anything but a reboot/remake. A spin-off would be perfect.

Meh,hard to make those movies worse but seeing DC comics films...I guess they can make them worse.

I would much rather prefered that it was more of a sequel, that happens far away in the fututre, enough that it had little to do with the original trilogy.I just wanted them to keep the original story intact.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

We have to wonder why it took so long.

Matrix is the perfect franchise to be revived/rebooted.

Can we please get original movies instead of reboot/sequels all the time

18 years old doesn't seem old enough just yet for a re-boot. It's not like they skimped on the budget back then either. Plus the first movie was done so well. The other 2 not so much. Good but not great like the first.

A prequel or sequel or off shoot I could see, but not a re-boot. The architect says Neo is part of The Matrix 6.0 so there are 5 earlier versions of The Matrix that play out differently to some degree, especially version 1.0 and 2.0 since they were "perfect worlds" and "lacked choice". This would be something they could write a script about and explain.

Why? The Matrix isn't even that old!

It could be worse, it could be Spider-man for like the 7th time in 15 years. Sony is squeezing that franchise dry.
