Yeah.  Like, I have to decide if I'm going to carry a 20 pound Gauss rifle with me or just go with my standard guns.  I can pick up several .5 pound fuses or I can grab a 3 pound container of oil.  I can wear heavy armor or I can wear light armor that lets me loot a lot of items.  It gives the player a lot of choices.  Also, like most inventory systems can be upgraded, different gear, perks, and stat increases affect how much weight you can carry.  

 

Sounds interesting. Also the option to fix weapons.

Not at all. The Witcher calls for the best armor and swords at all times in a serious way.

It's not just trying out new weapons.

Bombs are infinite and you can use stasis like any ice weapon (and tons more).

So it's not about trying every weapon to see which suits each situation best? Sure looks like it to me.



In Witcher 3 they dont break every other second like in Zeruda. Just annoying to collect 10 different weapons and having to constantly swap between them, enemies never break a thing but once things are in your hands they're as fragile as glass.

The rate at which they break is not an issue either. You should choose your weapon for your foe(s). Some are far better in specific scenarios than others. But if you try to use a hammer to open a jar of food, then you'll probably complain about the hammer spoiling your food too.

My only complaint is it can leave you in certain situations without the right weapon for the job , I would have liked to have seen  a repairer at some where like the stables ,who charge a price that's high enough to stop people repairing everything but not overly prohibitive either, so it  leaves the the  chose in the players hands  to how many times and what exactly they want to repair. I like options.

So far, I don't really have much of an issue with weapon durability, though having a limited inventory really does make it harder to work around..

Sort of need a torch, a deku leaf and a hammer as sides so that is already 3 slots used :/

I never had a weapon go below 50% durability. I remember being surprised about ten hours in that gear actually degrades, then briefly annoyed about it until I realized I had a number of repair kits in my inventory already from loot. Most painless weapon/armor degradation in any game, may as well not even be there TBH.

It's as much about fighting enemies using things other than weapons. Rune powers, boulders, lightning, stealth, horses. Using weapons against skeleton enemies is a waste and nowhere near as fun.

Witcher 3 wasn't really my cup of tea and that was part of the reason but also the weapons could be repaired and lasted longer so I could still get attached to one.

The main purpose of shrines is obtainng the orbs to upgrade your hearts or stamina , weapon finds are a side benefit and they aren't the only things inside chest's you also find cores and in rare cases armor.
