Forums - Gaming Discussion - Was weapon durability such a big problem for The Witcher 3?

I'm asking cause I enjoyed that game a lot, the game was praised by everyone but I don't remember people frustrated with weapons durability (something that tons of games have) This is the biggest criticism for zelda, I'm not saying that you're wrong if you don't like that aspect of the game, I'm asking if this is a big issue because I don't remember the same reaction for other games like the witcher 3 or fallout 4 where you have to deal with weapons durability, clothes durability  and other bs like carrying too much weight.

Well, Weapons have much more durability in Witcher 3 than in BOTW and if they break they can be repaired.

well, breath of the wild has a new weapon everywhere, if your weapon breaks you're going to find a new weapon in seconds. Even if you can repair the thing that's not less frustrating cause maybe you don't have a kit to repair the thing and you have to visit the store to repair the weapon.

Yes, if you don't have a repair kit. There is most of the time no way to replace your weapons, because those are mostly the only one you have.

But thats not an issue in Witcher 3, you usually end up throwing weapons away because its easy to accumulate a lot of them. And like I said, the equipped weapon lasts a lot a can be repaired immediately. So that mechanic of durability is never an issue in the game, you end up taking it for granted.

Well guess why I'm not playing The Witcher right now. Weapon degradation is stupid and adds no enjoyment to gameplay.

I don't think it's fair to call it the biggest issue when it's just part of very many little annoyances. Give props to the stamina meter, slippery rain and shitty framerate.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Weapon fragility is NOT a problem for anyone with a lick of patience in this Zelda game lol, the game practically throws weapons at you. Early on it might seem like an issue as you're facing mobs far superior to yourself, but by a few hours in I never had another shortage.

I think the most directly comparable system is that of Dying Light, which I also liked. Reading Jim's review recently, I'm convinced he did not play it nearly as long as he claimed to or, otherwise, just went in with a negative disposition looking for things to dislike.

So how does the weapon system work in Zelda?
Isn't there the usual boomerang, catapult, bow etc anymore?

There's three categories of melee weapons (1h, 2h, and spear), boomerangs (which function as a 1h but can be thrown and used like a boomerang), and bows.

those items are there from the beginning, with durability. You don't need to finish a dungeon for a new item, imagine skyrim with zelda items.
