Forums - Sony Discussion - PS Now To Support PS4 (Called It)

I've never really paid attention to PSNow until today.

Wait a second... so all this time The Last of Us was playable on PC???

PSNow became avaliable for PC just a few months ago.

Did the OP just credit himself for making an obvious prediction?

Anywho, PS Now is starting to sound interesting now. For $20 a month it needs more than PS3 content.

One thing Sony has to add now is the ability to download games if that game is natively supported on the platform. If someone wants to play a game such as Knack with PlayStation Now on PS4 I don't see a reason why you don't just let them download it. It gives the customer a better experience and I'd assume it's cheaper on Sony's end as well (surely letting someone download a ~50GB game once costs much less than letting them stream it for hours?).
And it would be awesome if Sony could do the same on PC, although that might be a bit harder since Sony doesn't have their own store on PC at the moment. But just like the example I gave with Knack on PS4, why not let someone download a game such as Assassin's Creed III on PC instead of forcing them to stream it?
Also one thing they need to do is replace all PS3 games with their PS4 version if that version exists. Having the PS3 version of the game on the service while a PS4 version exists would just be taking the piss.

What part of the OP did you not read?. Sony has confirmed PS4 games are coming to PSNOW on PC and PS4. Thats as clear cut as you can get. No room for auguments here.

i'm predicting about PS4 AAA exclusives for PSNow, my bad for not clarified

Good luck with that. I predict the service will die in a few years.

The problem is still the lag issue. Until there's zero lag, it'll never catch on.

People are acting like Sony announced support for Steam. PSNOW is a limited streaming service with a few random select games. Most of the games you're going to be streaming are already on PC. Even if they were to put their FP titles the same day as PS4 (obviously not going to happen) it's still variable streaming with worse quality than natively from a PS4. People with high end graphics cards won't be playing Bloodborn at 8K120fps all of a sudden. This isn't the same as MS putting all their games on PC.

I knew this was going to be used for fanboy wars when it's nowhere near the same as full PC support.

Love how this works.

"PSNow will never support PS4 games on PC this gen till PS5"

Now that its confirmed PS4 games will be coming to PSNow on PC

"PSNow will never support PS4 AAA games on PC till PS5"..

Is the goal post going to keep changing?.

Anyway im willing to bet Avater and Sig countrol that once PS4 games come to PSNow on PC and PS4 the will be a few PS4 AAA Exclusive games on it with anyone who would like to take me up on the offer .

You ask for clarification, then mock them for giving clarification? At the very least, in a thread that's title is literally "PS Now To Support PS4", it's surly not unreasonable to give someone the benefit of the doubt?

I Predict it will only grow. Internet Speeds are getting faster not slower you know. Gaming as a service is growing, I told you and others before that soon Sony would join MS on the PC front. And is also the start of Sony and PC relationship. I also imagine that at some point they will Turn PSNow into a Digital Store where you can download the games you rent on both PS4 and PC or they will bring the PSStore to PC.

Like others have said, the future of gaming will be services. You log into your Device and play your games on any device you wish, be it streaming if the device isnt powerful enough or native download support if it is.

And games arw becoming more complez. Internet speeds aren't growing fast enough for the service to survive long enough to become good enough.

I've been hearing the future of gaming is streaming/services for more than 5 years now and yet here we are. Maybe you'll be right in 20 years but the technology just isn't there yet and won't be for a very long time.
