Now that christmas have arrived with a new Zelda game (yay!), many of us are still in deep playing it, while others have already finished. Some, even replaying by now.

So, like a tradition, let's rank our personal experiences with the Zelda franchise. Please note that reviews shouldn't affect our personal opinions, so it is okay to not like BotW.

Let's start:

1. Ocarina of Time. Still the king to me. Well balanced, opem enough but a good story and sense of progression.

2. Skyward Sword. It feels like Metroid to me. Dense areas, backtracking, fighting Ghiramim 3 times. A lot of puzzles and was harder than WW and TP... (not like that was difficult...). Many of the ideas introduced in the game carried for BotW, like the parry, ancient high tech civilization, upgrading system, Godess Hylia introduction, etc.

3. Breath of the Wild. So far I like the difficulty and combat (yes, even weapom degration). World feels alive. The Great Plateau and the first dungeon remains as my most memorable experiences so far, but still in the middle of the game.

4. Twilight Princess. I liked Ordon Village. And the Wolf Link mechanic. The second half felt very Ocarina, while I loved the first one for being an unique experience.

5. Majora's Mask. Hard. Interesting. Sad. Great dungeon design and the best sidequests. Still today, the game is the most alive on the Zelda franchise.

6. The Wind Waker. The game has amazing music: Tower of the Gods, Hyrule Castle, The Great Sea, Dragon Roost Island. But it suffers from being easy. Even the Hero Mode is easy. The HD version looks very good.

Try to avoid spoilers for BotW, please.

For exploration, my favorite game would go to Breath of the Wild

For the most relaxing game, it'd be Wind Water

Most creative would be Link Between Worlds. The shifts from 3d to 2d and the puzzles are very enjoyable

Can't say I really hated any zelda game. At the worst, I thought Skyward Sword was a 7/10.

1. Majora's Mask. The time system, managing of NPCs, very interesting sidequests were ahead of its time. My favorite overall.

2. Breath of the Wild. Survival elements, very clever puzzles, AI and varied environments. And for the first time, Koroks, Ritos, Gerudos, Gorons and Zoras together...

3. A Link Between Worlds. Amazing dungeons and music. Very cool mechanic, going from 2D to 3D. Classic adventure feel.

Not gonna put BOTW in yet, though I suspect it will end up being either #1 or #2.

1. Skyward Sword. My current favorite game of all time. Love the motion controls. Love the dungeons. Love the story. Actually found Fi interesting, and she didn't pop up to comment so much during my playthroughs. Love the visuals and the music. Groose, ect...

2. Twilight Princess. The IR controls are great. The dungeons are great. Love fighting to bulboblin king between dungeons. Midna. Only complaint is the slow first hour.

3. A Link Between Worlds-the best 2D Zelda dungeons.

4. Minish Cap. The 2nd best 2d Zelda dungeons, and the best 2d art-style.

5. Wind Waker. The game is clearly incomplete, but what is there is great.

1.- The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past - Cant beat a classic. This is the game that made me fall in love with the franchise.

2.- Ocarina of Time.

3.- Twilight Princess.

4.- Majora's Mask

5.- Breath of the Wild - Granted, im just starting with the game, so first impression would rank it here, but lets see how that changes as a I progress.

6.- A Link Between Worlds

7.- Link's awakening

8.- Windwaker

9.- Zelda 1

10.- Skyward Sword.

11.- Minish cap, Four swords, Oracle of seasons

12.- Everythng that I haven't played.

13.- Spirit tracks.  ಠ_ಠ

1. Wind Waker
2. Breath Of The Wild

Cant really rank anyone else. Theres aspects I like from other Zelda games, but I don't know how to accurately rank them.

1. The Legend of Zelda - I played this as a kid and it was so mind boggling at the time. A game where you could go anywhere? A game where you could save without some password system? I couldn't believe it was possible back then.

2. Link to the Past - My personal favorite. It took everything I love and refined it. To this day I'd still put Link to the Past against any game made.

3. Twilight Princess - This game may forever go down as the "E3 Moment" of my life. I remember the cheering and euphoria of seeing Zelda the way I had imagined it.

4. Minish Cap - I will always have a soft spot for 2D Zelda and I enjoyed the GB/GBC entries, but this one finally hit the spot I'd been wanting since LttP.

5. Ocarina of Time - I picked an N64 over a PS1 because of this game. It was so massive and epic that I felt like I was playing the future.

Note: I have not played Breath of the Wild, and likely won't until sometime in 2018.

I still have a long way to go before I beat Breath of the Wild but...

(I'm just going to list the first 5)

1- Breath of the Wild:

2- Ocarina of Time

3- The Legend of Zelda

4- A Link to the Past

5- Twilight Princess

"I've Underestimated the Horse Power from Mario Kart 8, I'll Never Doubt the WiiU's Engine Again"

TLoZ is my favorite game of all time, so I don't know if anything will ever top it. But BotW is pushing it. It feels like a true sequel to that game and captures its spirit, only taking it to the millionth level and with modern presentation. I'm not that far in so I can't list it #1, but it is an easy #2, despite there being other games I truly loved. It's a masterpiece. So my list:

1. TLoZ. At the time, it was easily a perfect game and light years beyond anything else available.
2. BotW. See above. It's captured my imagination more than any game in recent memory. Flawless execution.
3. ALttP. A solid sequel, it felt a bit dumbed down from the original.
4. OoT. A different experience than the games above, it's beautiful in its own way.
5. MM. The unique experience and feel created some awesome escapism.
6. TAoL. It was weird, different and flawed, but at the same time gave a massive world and some creepy elements and settings. Its nice to see some of the scope that this game hinted at returning with Breath.
7. TWWHD. Played it for the first time on Wii U, and it was lovely.
8. TP. Cool setting but the motion controls drove me batty so I never finished it. I may pick it up on WiiU and take another run. Also, the dark world zones were cheep, annoying and no fun.
9. SS. Similar to above, except the graphics were worse and they wasted a prime opportunity to make some really cool flying creatures; instead we got dopey looking dodo birds. Also, for a setting that was supposed to be like the beginning of time, it didn't really feel like it. Throwing bombs by flicking your wrist sucks. So does flying a drone like that. And lastly, the orb collection stuff was lame and cheap way to stretch out the game.

I gotta say, after the last two entries I'm blown away by how good Breath is. I can't believe a team that fucked up so many things and slacked off in creating a deep experience have created a title as perfect and massive as Breath has been so far. It's restored my faith in humanity.
