It just feels natural to me. When you tilt your head back, you look up, and when you tilt it forwards, you look down. It should be the same for the control stick and camera.

bet: lost

no, I'm not a pilot

I hate inverted controls. It's the most problematic when trying to play N64 games where you don't have the option to switch it.

I normally associate it with the eyes. If my eyes look up, I see up, if they look down I see down.

I always do...and I honestly screw up when forced to play with normal axis. Glad to see I'm not the only one.

Looking through this thread, it seems to be connected to flying games. Never really thought about that...but I supposed I played a lot of Star Fox 64 as a young'n. Maybe that's related to it.

I don't. I guess it's a matter of people getting used to any of those set-ups, but never understood the idea of inverting the axis in the first place.

Since the right stick is typically controlling view, think of the joystick as your head.  If you push your head forward, then you're looking at the floor.  Pull it back and you're looking up.

Seems more intuitive to me.

Only during flight sims or games like x-wing vs tie fighter. Otherwise, no.

Unless it's flying, which is generally inverted by default anyways, I don't invert. I get the argument people make for doing it in FPSs, as it's liking tilting the guy's head. But for me, I'm moving a reticle, not a guy's head, so up is up and down is down.

I only do it when flying

I tried inverting my joy stick and it was painful how was I to know she said insert.
