Forums - Nintendo Discussion - New gaming demographics made possible by the Switch.

First we hear the story of the wife of a blind man: they were able to play a video game together from the HD rumble and 1-2-Switch. Perhaps he even has an advantage on some of the mini games, with a honed sense of hearing and touch, or maybe she's letting him win. Either way they're playing a video game together.

Now I'll regale you with a first-hand account of holding a baby while gaming: it's made easy with the Switch's Joycons. By decoupling the controller halves, neither gameplay or arm-cradle integrity are compromised when performing both of these vital tasks simultaneously.

These are just two previously untapped markets which only the Switch can utilise. How many more paradigm shifts in gaming will we see from this wonder machine?

It's always so obvious in hindsight. Only visionaries can see it before its conception.

How about blind babies?

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

Interesting. However considering that both blind and sighted babies will only be in the sensorimotor stage of cognitive development the distinction is unfortunately redundant in relation to gaming.

Err, I dunno about that baby one, it's basically universal to everything you have to cover with your arms, making the point sort of moot. But the blind point is very much valid IMO.

Or this is super satire and I'm really, really dumb.

So should we consider that they are playing a VIDEO game or just a game since there is no actual images necessary to play it?
