No, workers and employers enter into voluntary agreements with one another. The rich usually aren't stealing to get where they are in developed nations.

Quite often, health insurance is part of an employment package in the US. So the rich pay anyway. Why should they be punished?

Voluntary in the sense that they agree to it in a contract, involuntary in the sense that if they don't submit to the rich people who control the economy they will be forced into poverty and starvation. It's also funny how apparently the wealthy are getting "punished" for having higher taxes. Those poor souls who make 3 million a year instead of 4 million a year!

Taxation is punishment. It's a gangster shakedown. If you don't pay eventually people with guns are going to come to your house and take you away. If you resist them you could very easily be shot or killed. To me that's quite a punishment - your money or your life. Now that's what I call involuntary.

Also, there are many ways of making money legitimately out there. It's not like there is one factory owner in the whole of the USA and if you don't take 5c an hour to buy your family a bag of wheat every month you are going to starve to death. People actually compete for good workers. If you're good with money, live in a country like the US and work hard, it would be almost impossible to be poor.

The problem is not that some people are rich, it's that some people are poor. But the solution is not to steal from the rich and give it to the poor.

No one is saying we should steal from the rich. What we are saying however is that perhaps the United States may have flaws in certain areas which makes people unable to escape poverty (or barely erase it from their lives).

Now, will we ever eradicate poverty completely? No. Also, some people are poor for a reason. The majority of us however want to help those who actually strive to not become poor. People who work full time and yet require financial assistance are the poor ones that we want to help.

I don't mind paying taxes. As long as it isn't wasted, then I'm fine. I live in a state with very high taxes, but it pays off with the majority of the state being an amazing place to live  (especially the urban regions).

Here are your options:

- stop getting sick

- stop being poor

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

- George Orwell, ‘1984’

Shouldnt you americans be glad that he gives you healthcare at all as he is a republican?

A healthcare system is supposed to be a social system where people who are healthy and who have more also contribute to make healthcare affordable for everyone. This act will hurt the elderly and sick disproportionately more, which is not the point of healthcare at all.

That's a very strange way to look at taxation. We all pay for the roads, schools, and services we all use. That's why we have taxation. If no one pays his taxes, you have no state and you have anarchy.

Taxing the rich more isn't theft. There is a point when people just have enough means, the only right thing to do is distribute the surplusses to where they can be used to make sure everyone can lead a good life. There is a real problem when some people think they can never have enough and sink ever deeper in the mortal sin that is greed.

Since the beginning of time those healthier and more fortunate help those that are sick or just out of luck, the well off paying taxes to help the poor is as it should be

Here we go folks, Trumpcare is officially the alternative to the Affordable Care Act (known as Obamacare). Stumbled upon this and thought it'd be worth sharing since we have a decent amount of people on here who are decent with these types of subjects.

I must admit, I like the simplicity of the website and the overall neutral nature of it. We see what Obamacare offers, and what the new healthcare system will. Not really sure if I will like it or not- it will however be created during the time I start paying health insurance on my own. I guess I'll wait and see.

Sounds great!

A fair health care system should be something all nations have, imo.

Most western nations do have a fair health care system that is cheaper and more effective than the USA's.
I just don't understand why the USA is so rigid on Healthcare.

The reality is democrats are saying they can give everyone healthcare and GOP say you cannot.

The point is if Americans want European and Canadian style health care they need to start paying far higher taxes overall.
