DQ easily wins, maybe even worldwide which is a bigger challenge because DQ is nearly unknown in the west unfortunately.

I think people really overestimate Dragon Quest these days. It will probably sell about 2m LT across all platforms in Japan, so I think Splatoon definitely has a shot at surpassing it. But it will be close anyway.



Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

While Splatoon was quite a big and fresh new success, I feel DQ will still edge it out over it. DQ is just a beloved franchise in Japan, even now. If you count all the platforms it will release on, I think it'll definitely take it. PS4 alone will likely just edge over Splat2n.
