I fail to see what this discussion about the categorization of the Switch has to do with February's NPD information. Get back on topic please.

Leak some numbers then

Shots fired.

Could make a thread about the recent ZhugeEX/NPD tweets regarding Switch instead of carrying on in a thread about February's numbers. I don't have to leak anything I just have to keep the thread on topic.

And I'll have no problem with it either but it doesn't change the fact that PS4/xb1 will be competing for the #1 dedicated home console.  Switch bring the #1 hybrid won't take away from that achievement and if ps4 can make it 3/3 against xbox we will have cause to celebrate.

X1 won the "NPD #1" numerous times but if you look at the bigger picture, the xbox brand as a whole has been doing terribly. The monthly NPD #1 trophy is hardly an indicative of any brand's success, so I am not sure why you are already guarding the PS4 with needless labels & categories. PS4 achievements speak for themselves... so what's the point of all of this?

It just seems to me that you are already setting up a bait to rile up Nintendo fans in future NPD threads.

When handhelds were winning I also said ps4 the #1 home console.  Now that we have a hybrid why would I change my stance?

Edit: just seen ravens warning.

BTW Ryuu why are genuine and valid opinions being censured just because NPD says something? The thing is clearly a hybrid and not a traditional home console.  ever think NPD don't want the hassle of creating a third category for Switch on its own?

Is this what Vgchartz is becoming?  People's opinions censured? I don't know where to continue this debate because this is February NPD as raven said.  You can post on my wall or we can continue this next month when Switch is in their next report.

No numbers yet?

thought we would have at least software ranking by now

Your opinion isn't censored.  If you want to discuss whether the Switch is a traditional home console we can do that somewhere else.  This thread will be for discussing NPD numbers and they're going to compare them together, so for this thread let's just talk about NPD.

Yeah that's the thing.  I just make my opinion and say things like "ps4 #1 traditional home comsole"  or next month I'll probably say "Switch the #1 hybrid and #1 console overall".

I don't actually want to debate these opinions,  but people always seem to reply and want to start a debate.  As you guys have said that they should create a new thread or as I said talk to me on my wall.

I never intend for these threads to get dragged off topic.

Going to be interesting seeing how many months Switch can out sell PS4, regardless of how they are categorized.

The big question for me is how many units can NiN make per month and how many handheld gamers are going to buy into Switch?
NiN doesn't have to rely on just console gamers buying in this time. (Which truthfully isn't fair to directly compare it to PS4/XB1 sales since they are locked into console only)
If enough handheld gamers buy in, then Switch numbers could remain high for quite sometime. Price and lack of software however may hold many people off from buying Switch sooner than later.

Yeah it will be interesting to watch for sure.  I wonder if switch will be competing with ps4 WW or will it be the xb1. Interesting times ahead
