Still find it odd that it has framerate changes when docked vs portable. Hopefully a patch tweaks it.

Yeah, it's kind of sad the excuses made for it. I mean, smooth FPS is incompatable with Nintendo style?
Real 1080p is incompatable with Nintendo style? (like Fable is just so impossible to compare to Nintendo style) 

I agree that variable resolution would be good solution given discrepancy in docked/tablet mode.
Nintendo does not exactly seem up on modern technical solutions so we'll see.
If they can't optimize it better, dialing down the AA or other improvements in docked mode seems viable as well.
As far as problems specific to areas like Kakariko, they should adjust graphic settings for those areas specifically.
That could be a reasonable fix even for Wii U.



But wasn't this game made for the Wii-U originally ? If so, then it should run on the Wii-U best.

IMO, way too many reviewers are too quick to praise Nintendo games but other games they tend to take off major points for minor things.

All in all, a PERFECT score should only intern to a PERFECT GAME.



Not just kakariko and Hetano, it runs poorly in many places. The forest, the Zora city, enemy strongholds, etc etc.

It's poorly optimised...

I mean 20 FPS, that's a shame in 2017.



It's a Switch Game.  Runs fine on the Switch.

Yep the towns are terrible in the Wii U version. Haven't played that far yet but I bet it's terrible in quite a few of the later towns too.



I'm playing the Switch version and it runs awfully during cutscenes. The cutscenes are always stuttering and it's really annoying. Does anybody else have this issue?

My guess is, that it was delayed for so long until the Switch came out because Nintendo knew (they had to) that these frame rate issues existed on the Wii U. I own a Wii U and I've enjoyed it, but I'm glad I picked up a Switch. So far BOTW has been working great on it.

Rather than the meta-score itself, it's all those perfect scores that I hold in distain.  For me, that hurt the integrity of the publication that posts them.

the thing is that the meta score and reviews are for the switch version, that's the version that runs smoothly with the typical framerate dips of open world games. The wii u version is the version with the bad perfomance and reviewers didn't have that version, so it can't hurt the integrity of the publication. 

Doesn't run just as badly when the Switch is docked?

no, the switch has steady 30 fps in towns with some small dips in the overworld or when fighting. The Wii U version runs at 20-25 in towns always (at least those two towns) Well i found a trick and the best way to overcome this issue is to set the camera sensivity "very slow" Other than that the wii u version runs fine, but I want it to be fine always.
