The consoles should easily be able to do 4k 60fps with HDR.  I would like next gen to focus more on physics and number of characters on screen. With 20 teraflops we should see some areas photorealistic!

That doesn't exist lol. And it won't exist by 2019 or 2020 either. We just started using DDR4...

I think you are going to be disappointed just as people were with the basic PS4 and XBO. The upgrade will be mostly predictable: a mid-end GPU circa 2018 standards, a low to mid-end CPU circa 2018 standards, 16 GB of GDDR6 (maybe GDDR5 or HBM depending on what mid-end GPU's have at that time and whom the manufacturers make deals with: Nvidia or AMD), if we're lucky -- terabyte SSD's (should be affordable by then, and I don't predict games to bloat in size too much.)

That will leave room for a (or a few) PS4 Pro/XB Scorpio like upgrade(s) mid-generation.

I would prefer if SONY focused on something else. PS5 being just being another dumb PC would blow. SONY's is a hardware firm so should be able to come up with a new hook

They probably won't put resources into backwards compatibility as PS4 shows unfortunately you don't need it to sell units, which sucks. 

They should have so much power that their power becomes self aware and we can no longer play games because SkyNet has taken over.

Backwards compatability will be much easier if they use the same architecture, so it likely won't take too much resources.

Console Skynet wouldn't have a chance against #masterrace Skynet anyway.

Powerful enough for 60fps to be the standard.
