Forums - Gaming Discussion - Dual Analog Aiming Sucks, Hail Motion Aiming

Anyone else feel this way?

The motion aiming in Splatoon and used again in Zelda: Breath of the Wild for shooting arrows feels 100x more natural and is far easier.

And by motion aiming, for those who haven't tried those games, that doesn't mean wildly flailing the controller around, it's subtle little movements of the controller that fine tune your aim.

I just find I am having a very hard time going back to dual analog, the old style. Tryed Horizon on PS4 Pro today, nice graphics, but ugh that aiming with the arrows. Would be so much better if it had Breath of the Wild controls. Honestly thinking of just putting Horizon into my back log, I dunno want to go back to dual analog.

Just because something is better, doesn't mean everything else sucks. There is people who like dual analog setups, let them be.

“Simple minds have always confused great honesty with great rudeness.” - Sherlock Holmes, Elementary (2013).

"Did you guys expected some actual rational fact-based reasoning? ...you should already know I'm all about BS and fraudulence." - FunFan, VGchartz (2016)

I would've quit BOTW already if it didn't have motion aiming.

Exactly it's a hard game, but the motion control, especially with how vital usage of your bow/arrow is evens the odds quite a bit.

I've never been one of those die hard FPS shooter guys, but on Zelda even I can consistently aim, fire, and get head shots in again and again. It feels great to have a game respond how I want rather than wrestling with the controls.

Nintendo is really ahead of the pack here versus the rest of the industry on this, they are just doing it the old way because that's how it's always been done, but this is better.

I prefer motion aiming even to mouse/keyboard.

It's the only control method that actually has you ..... aim like you would in real life. It's far more natural in feel.

No thank you...... but glad you enjoy it.

Yes, motion controls for aiming are pretty good and more precisely. It still sucks on Splatoon, though. I just can't get my head around the motion controls in that game.

Everyone has their preference. I for example have no problem aiming with dual analog sticks.
Maybe you should change the threat title to :  Motion Aiming is much easier for me than dual analog aiming.

Personally i like dual aiming, i haven't tried the new Zelda so I'm unsure if i'll like it more. I guess it comes down to what you are used to.
