Personally, I think I'm over Final Fantasy. I feel sad about that, as it was my absolute favorite series for a long time, but the direction they seem to be headed isn't for me.

Oh, well. I'll find something else to play. If they no longer want me as a customer and a fan then so be it.

I replicate these thoughts. They don't seem to be making the main FF series for me anymore. Yet this is based on 2 games, one a spin off which was rebranded and a remake which is basically a different game with the same characters and name and that's it. So what of the future?

They have still to announce FF16, and this is why I'm reserved of abandoning the series totally. Each time they have made an FF game they have had the next in development, I'd say FF16 has been in development a while but because of FF15 delay and the idea of DLC for it, it was pushed back. It could be more like FF6-9 than FF15 and 7R, and sell just as well, reminding SquEnix what the series gameplay is meant to be.

Hmm, pie.

I don´t like the episodes stuff and the action combat.
Action should only be for spin offs imo. Didn´t buy FF XV either and I used to be a big FF fan.
I´ll find shelter in Persona I guess.

It doesnt matter to me as long as its faithful to the original.

People mad at no turnbased fights make me lol. FF7 was always intended to be a cinematic action game, the technology at the time just didn't allow them to.

wait.... you expected a 'REMAKE" to have an original plot?

I am still looking forward to it..... on another note, if feel if gamer (nostalgia) had their way everything will remain the same.

I was hyped for a remake. But we're getting a tribute trilogy instead, which could still be nice, just not what I was hoping for. My confidence in this product becomes shakier and shakier each time SE shows another screenshot of the opening sequence and nothing else. I hope that if they fuck it up fans will have a strong enough will to let it sit on the shelf.

I'm liking it. The upgrade in visuals and in turn the usage of real time combat makes for a nice experience for me.

Step right up come on in, feel the buzz in your veins, I'm like an chemical electrical right into your brain and I'm the one who killed the Radio, soon you'll all see

So pay up motherfuckers you belong to "V"

I'm very happy for them to adapt the script as oppose to a scene for scene recreation. This doesn't bother me as long as its done well.

I'm very happy for them to introduce a new battle system however I am very upset that its action orientated and not turn based. I've appreciated some of the changes from every FF from VII-XIII and this felt like a perfect opportunity to revisit the ATB system where you actually controlled all you characters and can fully implement tactics, and take it to the next level. Instead it feels like they've abandoned it as if Action is objectively better.

Ultimately my feelings will depend on whether FFXVI is turn based or not (I have it a feeling won't be), in which case this may have been our only change to see a classical FF made in a modern engine and to modern standards :*(

I'd feel better if any hugely talented AAA developer brings out a Turn Based RPG. I'm missing it sorely, whereas there was always an abundance of Action RPGs on the market. F

Giddy as fuck, they are bringing back one of my favorite tales, with updated visuals, combat and etc. The only thing I was worried about was the "episodic nature" of the game but I'll have to wait and see since it's suppose to be 3 different titles (unless it has changed) I hope the story remains close to the original, I wouldn't mind a few changes/revisions.

As far as the most controversial change (action combat from turn based), I've always said it makes sense at this point. You got bombastic, almost super human like characters dishing out the pain in turns? taking needless damage where they could be dodging, parrying, blocking, countering? It's more of an immersion thing for me, I would still play it if it was turned based but much prefer Action based, specially since FFXIII's combat feeling so sluggish and rigid.

Final Fantasy is dead to me.

The last amazing FF game was 10.
