Forums - Gaming Discussion - Final Fantasy VII Remake battles are action-based, cover optional

That's fine but we can have then a "revision" which is basically just the original game with the original game play just with better graphics?

Some of us don't want massive changes, we just want to be able to play the game with a fresh coat of paint.

Release it for Switch/Android/iOS if you want, Square-Enix.

I like both Action and Turn Based RPGs so it was never a problem for me what they did with the combat, but i gotta be honest i do have a preference for action over turn based so i like this change.

If it's similar to the FFXV combat system... I'm out. Bored me to tears.

Well, this post was pointless. I was trying to get the text to shake, but it won't work.

They should just fire nomura , everything he touches anymore turns into crap. he is a very very overrated game director / producer in my opinion.
A remake is taking the old game and making it look great with new tech, change a few things or add a few things. When u change how u play the game people loved , then it's not a remake but something else.

Well, ... no. In real life he did the opposite.

It's going to be an action RPG, just like how it looks in the movie, Advent children. This is my most anticipated game.

Not only can you cover and take a stealth approach in the infiltration bombing mission, you can choose not too, and also there is the option to switch characters during combat. And maybe materia equipment too!

Maybe ? If theres no materia on FFVII you can't even tell the story.

I still think ppl are jumping the gun a bot here, tis action absed with doesn't mean its Devil May Cry, there is a menu we've seen it multiple times, and theres also an ATB gauge, so some sort of turn or ability cooldown is there, maybe to force you into changing characters. Also we have always known it was action based.

Materia switching during combat is what I meant, because there is a materia command in the combat screen along with magic, attack, and items.

I feel like SE isn't really listening to the fans on this one, they are too interested in appealing to the mainstream market.

This shouldn't surprise anyone when we know Nomura is at the helm. I also welcome the actual remake nature they are going for, instead of using the word "remake" to describe something it's not.

Didn't we already know that? Just seals my decision never to buy/play it. And confirms what I already knew to be true, that nomura is single handedly killing the FF franchise.

Nomura is the top autority in Square for Action RPGs.I think the fault lies in Square for wanting to butcher FF by making it into a real time action game, and thus charging Nomura to helm it.Nomura is simply doing the best he can to appease everyone.Plus I sincerely think that it was Tabata that made FF XV the "bad" game it is in my opinion.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.
