For comparison sake, in the post itself of NeoGaf:
Comparison to previous 3D home console Zeldas (source):

N64 The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask FW: 314.044 LTD: 601.542 Nintendo 4/27/2000
NGC The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker FW: 287.346 LTD: 742.609 Nintendo 12/13/2002
WII The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword FW: 194.894 LTD: 349.143 Nintendo 11/23/2011
WII The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess FW: 145.068 LTD: 554.109 Nintendo 12/2/2006
NGC The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess FW: N/A LTD: 70.000 Nintendo 12/2/2006
So retail-wise, Breath of the Wild for Switch is the third least-selling 3D Zelda for homeconsoles, though we're missing the digital sales into the equation.
Very good number considering its on the WiiU as well and outsold Twilight Princess on the Wii.
Great sales! It sold to 2/3 of the current Switch install base, what more can you expect? Zelda hasn't been that popular in Japan for quite a while now. It sold better than Twilight Princess on Wii. Hopefully that's a good sign.
So what does the other half do with their Switches?

Smile at them.

The Switch has sold close to 400K in Japan already? Damn.

It was reported that for every 3 Switches sold, 2 copies of Zelda were sold and 1 copy of 1 2 Switch was sold.
So its roughly Switch-300k, Zelda-200k, 1 2 Switch-100k
