Do we believe Reggie through the NYT through The Verge?

Yes. 126 50.81%

No. 80 32.26%

Who's Reggie? 42 16.94%

Total:248

This is good news not only because it sold so well, but because Nintendo is selling the Switch at a profit along with the profit of the Software. So I know a lot of people want Switch to be the end of Nintendo but...that's not happening anytime soon.

How do other consoles compare?

Hopefully this news increases Nintendos third party support!

So Wii sold 600,000 in 8 days. So I'd say less than 400,000 in 2 days?

So if Switch sold more than Wii for the first 2 launch days. Switch sold more than 400,000

Not that impressive. Ps4 1million sold day 1. We all knew Switch was going to sell well right off the gun.

It is impressive considering this was within a very limited quantity.

I agree that it's not bad, but let's not forget that the PS4 was sold out too.

not bad, but if they are really good worldwide I don't see why Nintendo wouldn't be vocal about it

hopefully an announcement is imminent

I agree. One would imagine by the first business day a real announcement would have been made.

Console at launch should sell out though, so not the best gauge.

Very impressive. People forget the PS4 launched in late November - prime holiday sales period - while the Switch launched at the start of March.

It just doesn't matter. Like people rally keep saying that. Do you really think the amount of consoles sold at the launch of any new hardware is being sold to the average joe consumer that just waltz into a store to pick one up?

The PS4 even after reasing in november remained mostly out of stock till around march the following year.  months later. If it had released in january it would have been the same thing.

That aside, if the last best selling launch nintendo had was under 500k then thisisn't that big a deal. I personally expected them to sell through around 800k on day one pending availability.

I mean we are in a world where stuff gets pre-orders well into their millions before the product even reaches the market for crying out loud.

I believe the US will be the biggest lunch, I was expecting 700-800K 1st week, beating Wii numbers even if only for the opening will be great

Considering it launched in March rather than in the holiday, that is good, but would really like to see actual numbers D:

[3DS] Winter Playtimes [Wii U]

I'd say it is pretty impressive Nintendo could pull off a launch like this considering initial supply Nintendo was providing was relatively low, but also considering it's only March, and not the Holiday season the way PS4 and Xbox One were released. Hopefully the trend holds up.
