So, following the news that Horizon was the biggest new IP launch on PS4 (edit: we only know this for the UK), I started wondering just how well it sold. It was a little unclear (at least for me) if this meant it was the biggest Sony-published PS4 new-IP game, or the biggest new IP game on PS4 when counting other publishers as well.

If it was the biggest Sony-published new IP game, it puts the game at OVER 1.2 million units sold in its first week, by beating No Man´s Sky:

If it was the biggest new IP on PS4, considering all publishers, it might have even surpassed Destiny´s 2.14 million units:

So did the recent poll-thread with Horizon FW sales prediction, with "over 1 million - not gonna happen" just happen?

Remember the biggest selling new IP comment was about UK only, 1.2+ million isn't confirmed by that statement.

Though it being sold out on Amazon in the US, UK, FR, GE... and probably more is a good indication that it's selling very well.

It was the biggest new IP launch on PS4 in the UK. Although, it sold over 1 million units worldwide without a doubt. It could also have a shot at 2 million, but we don't have any confirmation.

Damn, thats what I get for just skimming through the articles. However, being the biggest new IP in the UK, might give us a clue about how well it sold worldwide, compared to these other two games.

I think they meant new ps4 exclusive IP otherwise it would mean that it even outsold Uncharted 4's FW and it would make it the biggest ps4 exclusive launch ever and not the biggest ps4 exclusive launch since uncharted 4 because Destiny (PS4) FW > Uncharted 4 FW

Well it will likely beat no man's sky and digital should be 25-30% So I can see 1.5m+ happening. For the whole of March retail and digital it has a chance to sell 2m+ but if you include shipped copies to stores it likely will.

Looking forward to hearing sales announcements from Sony.

I think Europe alone is over 750k I estimate US on 550k and rest of the world around 200. So around 1.5 million but the biggest new IP in Europe.

We know that Horizon sold over 100K in the UK. Looking at Tsutaya, Rakuten, and COMG, Horizon might be able to sell 100K first week in Japan so we're talking about >200K from just the UK and Japan. Factor in the US, continental Europe, Asia, and other markets, Horizon should be above 1 million by now.

I sure hope it beats No Man's Sky
