yeah I understand that, but to be fair Breath of the wild is a game design master piece thanks to the flawed skyward sword, the game is the definition of freedom.

Thanks to? I don't know. it sold 11 million copies and got great reviews. So it wasn't the lack of success that motivated Aonuma and its team to make changes.

He just saw that the series had reached a dead end. And so did a lot of other people, me included.

Funny how people who thought Skyward Sword was perfect are enjoying even more BotW, to me you can't do both. So maybe those people will finally open their eyes and stop the hypocrisy about Skyward Sword.

11? skyward sword sold 4m and Aonuma said that he Breath of the wild exists thanks to the complaints about skyward sword. Research my friend, research. Also, I love skyward sword and I love breath of the wild, that's not "hypocrisy"

I mixed things up, 11 is mario Galaxy... I always thought Skyward Sword was successful though. That's weird, how did I miss this?

Anyway, good news, I guess only the press and die-hard fans were wrong about the game then.

Also, I never Aonuma say anything about listening to Skyward's critics. But you're right, obviously the decline in sales were a good motivation to rethink the franchise.

Eh, I think it'd be better to just have it on the virtual console (when Nintendo gets around releasing it). Hopefully Nintendo can do it and upscale to the 900p for the TV for the better graphics.  Given Nintendo has hard enough time releasing enough games as it is it'd be best not to have them waste too much time on ports.

WW HD and TP HD are 1080p on Wii U, offcourse that HD port of SS would be 1080p on Switch.

Skyward Sword is a great game. It combines the Zelda formula with the Metroid formula and refines them, whereas the BOTW combines the Zelda formula with modern western open world formulas and refines that. The combat in SS is still better, as are the dungeon designs and story, based on what I've seen. Liking 1 game over the other doesn't mean that the other is trash any more than liking Twilight Princess over Ocarina means that Ocarina is trash. Both SS and BOTW are the best there is at what they do, respectively.

Talks about how HD rumble could be used in Skyward Sword. I'm thinking it'll be the next Zelda game we wind up getting. It seems pretty obvious, especially since the switch joy-cons would work perfectly for it.

I'd really love that to be honest. It's the only console Zelda game that I didn't play (have played all the rest, but by the time it released I'd moved on from the Wii and honestly didn't notice as I was damn busy drinking in college at the time lol)

From what I'm hearing the desync issue isn't much of a problem for most and, otherwise, they're the most advanced motion controllers to date. I might be a rarity, but I'd love to give Skyward Sword a try in this setting, especially as I can just hop back on Breath if I get that open world itch.

As much as I love open world, more linear approaches can be fun too... they just don't have the same staying power or replayability.

I hope this is true! In fact, I'm rather hoping a lot of the Wii U games get ported over as well... so many of them were great but got no love as not many people had their console, and if they port those they can dedicate their resources elsewhere. I'm more than OK with upgraded ports of Mario Kart 8/Smash Bros etc being the main iterations for Switch if it means manpower and money getting put into other projects.

Could be a game I'd expect in the next few years after people have figured out 90% of BoTW

The Democratic Nintendo fan....is that a paradox? I'm fond of one of the more conservative companies in the industry, but I vote Liberally and view myself that way 90% of the time?

I think it's got a big chance. The joy cons are basically better wiimote plus, so they can adapt the game to then, make the game run in 1080p and 60 fps, and I bet it'd look like a hell of a game, due to its art style. Would love to play it again in full HD.

Look up the game running on Dolphin if you haven't already, it does look great.

I want Skyward Sword HD so much! I consider it as good as Ocarina, both are tied as my favorite Zelda games ever =P

Edit: Hopefully it's going to be a faithful remake, if they try to modernize it too much and start adding voice acting or stuff like that I'll be pissed.

YES ME TOO!  Its so exciting. I usually judge a game by how much fun i have. I had so much fun playing SS. Maybe it was the motion controls but I GOT SOOOO INTO IT.  The imursion of the game was huge while fighting.  But my fav part of zelda's is the fighting.

sometimes I would slash attack 100 times just to try to break through a block and I wont ofcourse without a "trick" parry or dodge first.  BUT I STILL POUND IT OUT.  SINCE WHEN IM PLAYING I AM LINK! I NEVER GIVE UP!

This is where BotW loses me.  Is it a masterpeice yes! do i hate it? yes! The fighting i can't hit over and over like i normally do. the weapon breaks to fast. Also, the game is beautiful but is SO BORING. Im usually alone walking in the HUGE world climbing something.

I WOULD WISH FOR MROE BAD GUYS just to feel some excitment...but HELL I dont wanna fight anyone and ruin my sword. Im even scared to cut grass.

Normally i'd cut grass alot lol its a sick zelda ocd thing. but in botw i've held back. after 1 cut i thot oh shit better not waste my sword.

god i hate botw.

The main reason I've been wanting to play it is this youtuber named Peanutbuttergamer, he's obsessed with Zelda and his opinions seem to match mine quite well (he actually loved sailing in WW like I did).

Anyway, he loved Skyward Sword while being meh on Twilight Princess, and his review makes it seem pretty awesome. I'd love for it to show up on the Switch.
