It just came out. You wont get that kinda guide for a while

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

Says who?

Here, OP. Goes without saying, massive spoilers within it.

I assume the speedrunner does provide the commentary for the key actions to maximize your time within it.

That won't cover the story though.

@OP This is impossible. You either can finish the game quickly or you cover all of the story points. These are mutually exclusive. The story is nonlinear so that you get pieces of it by doing small things throughout the world in no particular order (you hunt down memories; you complete dungeons; you beat bosses, etc.)

To do all of this it probably takes at least 20-30 hours.

This is probably going to be the Zelda format for a while. The 2D and 3D games seem to have converged in terms of gameplay. So if you are interested in the lore and story, but don't want to play the games, just watch cut scenes on YouTube. It saves you money and time.

Hmm, I didn't know about that. I assumed he had to endure some main plot points in order to reach the final boss that quick.

That being said, I doubt it will take much time for a less than 10hours 100% speedrun to pop up.

In the linked speedrun, you find out the premise of the story (after finishing the plateau) and the ending (assuming you can beat the final boss -- the uploader of the video has not yet.) Everything else in between is missing: that includes characters important to the story, and a few major plot points. Even the big hint to the most popular theory for the timeline placement wouldn't be known. And the uploader beat the game (conventionally) already and still can't complete the speedrun, I doubt somebody new to the game can defeat the final boss with three hearts and without dozens of hours of practice with the gameplay mechanics. Especially if they hate the game.

You won't find Speedrun guides for a good while and when they do arrive I can picture the will be a fair number of categories for this game so good luck deciding which you'd want to run.

Depends what we consider 100%. All shrines, all story cutscenes, all dungeons? I see this, optimized, getting to 5 hours with glitches, and around 7 hours glitchless. Of course, I don't know much about speedrunning process and all that.

Also, there's an encyclopedia... If that's part of 100%, then there's no way to make it a "speed" run
