Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Few Facts about Zelda BotW Meta Score

-Zelda Breath of The Wild on Metacritic currently has 102 reviews.

-From those 102 reviews, it received 64 perfect scores (10).

-So only 36 reviews from 102 are not perfect score.

-Lowest score is 60.

IMO it very hard that any game again will achieve what Zelda BotW achieved.

It will still get more reviews so there is a chance someone will score under 90.
I believe both the Super Mario Galaxy's also didn't receive a score lower than 90. But they had less perfect scores proportionate to the number of reviews.

Nice, but there is something wrong with these numbers, because 41+16=57. So, there are either 26 non-perfect scores or 51 perfect scores.

The most impressive thing in my opinion is the lowest score being 90. I'm not sure if any other game has such a high lowest score, but it is fantastic that all reviewers actually agree that the game is excellent.

I clicked on the link, and realized that fan reviews didn't show up after scrolling down.

I checked a few other games and fan reviews immediately show up after you go past critics. Is it just me, or did metacritic choose to remove it from appearing under critic reviews?

No, the fan reviews still show up if you search  it up normally. OP decided to link after clicking "show all critic reviews" so we could see all the reviews.

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

I mean, sure, these are a few facts about the score, but I expected, I dunno, some fun tidbits about the score itself, not just standard data. xD

Something like "There's only 4 games with 98 meta score: Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2, Soul Calibur/Soul Edge, GTA IV and Breath of the Wild". Of all those, Breath of the Wild is the second most-reviewed one so far (67 critic reviews) with the 360 version of GTA IV being the most (86 critic reviews).

My bad, fixed.

Odyssey could match it possibly, open world Mario game combining the approach of Galaxy, 64 and 3DW.

I guess here's a tidbit. I mentioned this in the review thread, but for those who might've missed it..

BoTW is currently the highest rated game ever on GameRankings, surpassing previous leader Super Mario Galaxy. It took Galaxy about five years (and a few adjustments in scores over the years, according to Lawlight(?)) to surpass Ocarina of Time, which appears to have taken the all time high review score for about more than a decade before Galaxy surpassed it in 2012. For Breath of the Wild, however, it took only the day BEFORE LAUNCH to surpass Galaxy. Plus, while Galaxy and OoT are separated by 0.10%, BoTW tops Galaxy by 0.50% as of now. Of course things could change since BoTW only has 40 reviews registered at GameRankings, but this is still an incredible achievement nonetheless.

Yea, I realised that. So technically it has a high score than OoT at 99% with only 23 reviews.
