Nem said: Don't write things off as just trolls. From the honest reviews i've seen, what happens is that the game became a typical open world game. Light on story, open ended and with repetitive tasks. I myself am a bit burned out of that type of game. I don't dislike them if i'm on the right mood, but it can get quite pointless and boring. I am pretty sure that the highest scores are not honest, if not only for the technical issues. But it certainly isn't a game as revolutionary as Ocarina of time. Whoever tells you that is just trying too hard. |
Agreed with this statement, while the game is truly amazing in my opinion it doesn't really do anything new or unique; is just extremely well done and better than other open world games in my opinion.

The physics system is quite developed, and not just for an open-world game, but games in general. That is new and unique.
Plus the integration in horse taming, cooking mechanics, etc are based more closely on real-world intuition and logic than most games.
The non-linear main story is a mainstay from 2D Zelda games, but besides Dark Souls very few series implement this.
All together, I think the game is more revolutionary than the standard evolution from 2D to 3D that was going to happen anyway, regardless of whether or not TLoZ accomplished it
