Forums - Politics Discussion - Trump accuses Obama of wire tapping Trump Tower before election win

You know, I actually wouldn't be surprised if it was true. However, I'd also assume that:

1 - Obama was probably wire tapped too throughout his presidency
2 - Trump's presidency will definitely involve wiretapping of some sort, either by the CIA or the NSA

Sounds like fake news to me. People shouldn't trust the media.

Sad that you're willing to handwave this.

If there's nothing here, why is General Flynn fired and Jeff Sessions having to rescue himself from an investigation on the matter?

Lets have a full and impartial investigation here. If nothing is wrong, Trump should have nothing to hide and nothing to get overly defensive about.

I also notice none of the Trump supporters have wanted to touch this topic at all for several weeks now even though it's been boiling over, now they're going to try and blame Obama for it.

If there is anything to it, where is it already? The Obama administration was spying on them and still got bupkis, which is why they have to run with such flimsy attacks such as the one on Sessions. Luckily for them the Democrat media still dutifully pushed it like it's a big deal even though it's pretty clear Sessions was talking about his role as a campaign surrogate and not his role as a senator, and even though one of the two encounters was arranged by Obama's own State Department and the other was in Sessions' office with witnesses.

It's clearly an oppositional tactic and nothing more.

Why did Trump have to have General Flynn and his head of campaign Paul Manafort resign? That's two people now in Trump's inner circle that have been forced to resign due to close ties to Russia, before this Sessions thing. Was that just "fake news"?

This deserves a full investigation. Top to bottom.

If a freaking blow job in the White House deserved a full investigation this does. Republicans need to stop being hypocrites.

Again too, if there is nothing to hide I ask you again, what is the harm in an impartial investigation?

Opposition from what too? Trump's party controls all three major branches of the government, stop whining and let there be a full unbiased investigation.

There are already multiple ongoing investigations. How many more do you want?

No there isn't, not an official one that answers to the American people.

Trump was hoping that Sessions (his puppet) would lead the formal investigation. That just got nixed this week, that's why Trump is throwing a shit fit right now because his plan of having this swept under the rug by a rigged investigaion head is starting to look less and less likely.

Didn't Merkel get wire-tapped? It's probably more likely than we think.

The United States tries to tap as many people as they can. As I said, I wouldn't be surprised if even the president himself was being tapped.

There are at least three being run by the FBI and two by the Senate.

Okay, but like...did he get this from an actual source, or from one of those crazy right-wing "news" outlets that he religiously follows?

Edit: Did some digging, and it looks like if there was any wiring tapping at all, it was the FBI during an investigation into his campaigns ties to the Russian governent. His only evidence seems to be that the FBI requested a FISA warrant to investigate his campaign and that it was likely granted by a federal judge. So, nothing to do with Obama, and worrying that they were able to provide probable cause for the warrant at all.

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

The Senate that is controlled by Trump's party.

The investigation Session's "rescued" himself from is the Federal investigation that's going to happen. That's going to be the big one.

That's the one Trump is probably worried about.

Sessions helming such an investigation was a laughable conflict of interest to beigin with. I think even Republicans knew that wasn't going to fly. Let someone who isn't in Trump's freaking cabinet head the investigation, it should be an impartial commitee with people from both parties. Plain and simple.
