I left my Switch with my nephew during Easter
... don't expect any updates until next month?
Before I bombard this thread with weird screenshots, here's a cute sunrise:
So, as some of you may know, you can fly in BotW in some weird ways, and you can see over the invisible walls. I was pretty curious as to what was beyond the giant mountains, and why Nintendo would've made such unreachable places so detailed. Here's what I got:
To the South-West (beyond Gerudo region). Not much, besides some mountains a green fields:
To the North-West (beyond Rito Village and Hebra Region). Much more detail. More mountains, green fields with different elevations, maybe even some trees:
To the North. Probably the most detailed/pretty looking. If the DLC sections were to take place outside of Hyrule, I'd expect it to be there:
To the North-East (beyond Akkala Region and Death Mountain). Not much to see except the shore of the previous area:
And to the East (beyond Lanayru Region). Just 2 small islands way off in the distance; you don't need to fly to see it. I could also see the DLC take place there (maybe the Cave of Trials?). Also Death Mountain looks really good from above:
3 things to note:
1. There's nothing but water to the South.
2. When you get close to the area to the North beyond Hyrule (as in, the top of the unreachable mountain), the textures start to pop-in/bug around. When that happens, there are no trees, which is why I say there are "maybe" trees in those areas.
3. I tried to take a pic of all of Hyrule (main regions + Hyrule Castle at least), but it was pretty hard. If you go too high, it gets pretty foggy, so I waited till I descended enough for it to look better, but then I was too low to have the pic I wanted.
Extra: Lost Woods and the blind spot look pretty weird up there.
Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.
