NieR Automata is coming to the PC on March 17th, official PC requirements revealed

 

Square Enix has revealed – via its Japanese support site – that NieR Automata will be coming to the PC on March 17th. In addition, Square Enix has unveiled the official PC requirements for this brand new title. 

According to the official specs, PC gamers will at least need a modern-day dual-core CPU with 4GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770 (VRAM 2GB) or an AMD Radeon R9 270X (VRAM 2GB).

Square Enix recommends an Intel Core i5 4670 or an AMD A10-7850K with 8GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 (VRAM 4GB) or an AMD Radeon R9 380X (VRAM 4GB).

Here are the full PC requirements for NieR Automata.

Minimum:

  • OS: Windows 7 64-bit / Windows 8.1 64-bit / Windows 10 64-bit (32-bit OS not supported)
  • CPU: Intel Core i3 2100 or higher, AMD A8-6500 or higher
  • Memory: 4GB or higher free space
  • Hard-Disk / SSD: 50GB or higher
  • Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770 VRAM 2GB or higher / AMD Radeon R9 270X VRAM 2GB or higher
  • Sound Card: DirectX 11 or higher
  • Communication Environment: Broadband or higher
  • Screen Resolution: 1280×720
  • DirectX: DirectX 11
  • Other: Mouse, Keyboard, Gamepad (XInput-only)

Recommended:

  • OS: Windows 8.1 64-bit / Windows 10 64-bit (32-bit OS not supported)
  • CPU: Intel Core i5 4670 or higher, AMD A10-7850K or higher
  • Memory: 8GB or higher free space
  • Hard-Disk / SSD: 50GB or higher
  • Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 VRAM 4GB or higher / AMD Radeon R9 380X VRAM 4GB or higher
  • Sound Card: DirectX 11 or higher
  • Communication Environment: Broadband or higher
  • Screen Resolution: 1920×1080
  • DirectX: DirectX 11
  • Other: Mouse, Keyboard, Gamepad (XInput-only)

It remains to be seen whether the North American and European release dates for the PC version of NieR Automata will be similar to the Japanese one.

UPDATE:

The game will be released worldwide on March 17th!

Happy to know that it's finally coming out, nearly 3 and a half weeks later. What I'm not all that keen about is the fact that they are asking for a GTX 980 on their recommended spec side of things. I own a GTX 980 myself and sport a 4670k, so I'm covered on all those recommended ends, but I feel like them asking you for a high end GPU means that they have goofed up somewhere, either that or they are tossing in high quality textures.

We'll soon see how it goes, but I do hope that those near 3 and a half weeks were spent on polish rather than cramming in as much DRM as possible.

Not unless they crack Denuvo I think and you can't do that on legit Steam copy.

Well we have seen Denuvo get cracked quite quickly these days. I don't think it even took a week for them to crack RE7 since it was up on pirated sites pretty fast.

Things might get harder now, I've read that Square was waiting for new Denuvo version before releasing Nier on PC, may explain a 7 day delay.

Also sad thing is, you need to crack the product you bought in order to even install the mods, that's so lame.

It will work well on 970 anyway, doesn't look like a game that would hit over 3.5 GB of RAM on 1080p or 1440p.

1080p max details 60 fps should be easy with GTX 970/980/1060 or RX 470/480

It damn well better run well if they are asking for a GTX 980 =P. If not they got some splainin to do.
